Its amazing how you can tell your skill level has GREATLY increased from the beginning of this build until now. Youre doing a killer job on this build and your body work look fantastic. Keep up the progress and keep us updated!

Haha, I have noticed the same thing. Especially now that I have had to re do some of my original work but considering I was 15 when I started and am now 23 you would hope I would learn a few things over the years.

Had to do a little heating and shrinking of the metal to get things nice and flat again and it went quite well considering how hard it is to get a dolly in behind the panel I'm working on. This pic is of me straightening and pounding out the dents after the shrinking.

Wow, it has been awhile! After 2 years out of town, coming home and buying a house and then over 2 years of renovations its time to work on the truck again.

Im getting married this September and the Boss says she wants the truck ready for some wedding pictures so im back in the garage finally.

Since its still cold here in Manitoba and im tight on space with my snowmobiles in the garage i decided to start with tearing down my engine to see if my timing gear issue caused me any more greif. All tore down and from what i can tell it looks good but glad i tore it down since i found 2 chunks of metal off my timing cover in the pan.

Will start assembly next week hopefully and then some fresh paint since it looked like crap.

So much for cleaning and going back together.

After closer inspection i burnt 2 cam lobes so throw that in the garbage and 2 of my rod bearings had funny wear on the outside of the crank. close look at the crank and you can see that the taper isnt right and it has funny tooling marks so its a boat anchor now. Should have never gone together in the first place with the crank that way.

Anyways i picked up a 66 327 with a good crank sunday so just some final cleaning and buy or track down some .060 pistons and then off to the machine shop.

In the mean time i started stripping my firewall.

Thanks, this time its till the end!

This week i have been mocking up my new rear gas tank and it has been a bit of a head scratcher since i bought it around 4 years ago and don't remember who from.

Got a plan to make it work now!

Also i don't work tomorrow so have been pulling stuff off the firewall and stripping paint tonight (it is after 3am now). About 80% done with that and on the fence about body working the firewall. See how far i get this weekend.

Well it was like Christmas morning on Saturday. drove down to the boarder and picked up all my engine parts. Dropped everything off at the machine shop tonight so hopefully get it back next week and start assembly.

Made a little progress this weekend.

Got my rear tank in after some head scratching and making up some brackets out of angle iron to hold it nice and tight.

Haven't updated in awhile but still working away.

I have everything back from the machine shop so i can assemble the engine any time now but since it took a little longer then expected i started on body work so engine assemble is on hold till the cab is in paint so i can drop it in and assemble the driveline, exhaust and break it in.

Bodywork was going good and getting close to spraying some more high build on the cab until found some issues that i didn't take care of first time around.

Had a real productive day yesterday getting ready for another shot of high build. Even had my buddy mike (67seaten) come over and help out into the night.

Just a little sanding to finish up this week and fix up the cab corners 16 year old me welded in and will be spraying primer.

Haven't posted in awhile. Since last post i have continued to work on the back of the cab and it has been more involved then i first thought. In the body filler stage so hopefully im spraying high build by the end of the week.

Made the decision last week to pull the cab to make body work and paint easier. looking like a full blown body shop in here now!

Also made the decision and ordered up my bed wood today! went with ash.

Well it was a busy week and some long hours on the weekend with a 12 hour shift on sat and 15 hours sunday but the cab and front clip are in highbuild. Things are looking really good and the plan is to start blocking tomorrow.

Haven't been on here in awhile because i have been too busy working on the truck.

As of 4 pm today the cab and front clip are in paint! I was in the garage getting ready for my buddy to come over yesterday around 9 am cleaning out the place and prepping stuff. He showed up around 4 pm and after more prep work we were ready to spray around 10 pm last night.

Lets just say we got off to a rocky start that cost us a lot of time. We ended up spraying the last coat of clear at 4 pm this afternoon.

Really happy with how it turned out.

Also check out the filter and exhaust set up i made. It worked really well!
