Re: AD Truck Project
You are the worst type of peer pressure, you are nearly silent.
Oh well, one more thing off the list. Jeff from CPP was pretty cool to talk to. |

Re: AD Truck Project
Hey I just realized we are in a race to get our rollers together. I'm hung up going back and forth about the rear suspension but after that look out!
There is a very outside chance I could get transferred to OKC...then I would be able to come over and harass you in person! |
Re: AD Truck Project
 cool let me know and we'll go harass him together

Re: AD Truck Project
What are you painting your frame with Billy?
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Tears and Broken dreams... lol
I don't know yet. I know my dads car we primered it and then painted it a marroon single stage. I am thinking either por15 like many are using or epoxy and then just black. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Thats cool, we just painted the trailer with Chassis Black from Oreillys, something cheap because its a trailer and will get beat up, but its pretty durable.

Re: AD Truck Project
That is always an option. All part of the massive list of things to think about. I think what has slowed us down on my dads, besides his health, is not making smaller attainable goals and achieving them.
Last weekend I was down there and he goes what do we want to work on, the hood, or welding in the rocker. Well, of course if we finish up the rocker, then we could put the door back on, and be closer to getting some more primer on the car. |
Re: AD Truck Project
i say when you get close to painting the frame hollar at scott and i and we can have a painting party.
if you ever need anything be sure youhollar at me ill be glad to stop by and lend a hand. hopefully you can get your stuff up here so you can chip away on it more. makes it easier to work on that way hahah. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Cool, Ill help! :metal:

Re: AD Truck Project
I appreciate it. Maybe I can slip in a few more parts next payday. The back part is pretty easy. Just need to be it where it can roll. The front is the part that will take a bit more time.

Re: AD Truck Project
Once you get the cross member welded in it will be down hill from there.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Definitely. Then it is mostly just bolting stuff on.

Re: AD Truck Project
I used Summit's black epoxy primer, supposedly it's re-branded Kirker same as Eastwood sells. 1 gallon plus reducer comes out to less than $100 and it's mixed 1:1 so you get 2 gallons sprayed. I think I used about 8 ounces of each on the frame, maybe a bit more but I can see this stuff being useful forever since it can go direct to metal. Saves a trip to the store too (paint house here sucks). Plus you can do fabwork, grinding and stuff then just hit it again.
Another good option would be Rustoleum Professional at like $40/gal? I think. Tcb-1 used it on his frame and it looks perfect. Just a thought. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Sweet. Thanks for the suggestions.
Also thanks to Scott for the gift of tie rods! |
