Awesome!

I'm eventually going to put an Auburn locker in mine too. However, it's low on the list. I already have the 3.08 gear though. :D

I'm a sucker for metallics so I'd vote for the last blue one....but why change? Is your current paint not nice or just not what you want?

Hey Nate, what do you think the truck would look like with a little white paint on the roof and lower panels? Maybe even a lower woodgrained molding?;)

Keith,
Yeah, I agree with you about the two-tone paint, I was just messing with Nate;) I am going to lower it in the rear about 1 1/2 in. using lowering blocks. 1 1/2 inches should be about right. The front is about where I want it.
I may add the lower moulding, can't decide on Woodgrain or Black and Chrome. What do you think?

Dale

Sorry about that Dale... lost track of the thread my friend.

IMO... the truck looks perfect as is, but I'd always welcome another white/light green/white SWB to the mix. :D

As Keith posted above, I'm also a sucker for the woodgrain molding, especially on a SWB. I think your truck would look great with it, but... I also think it looks good as is.

IMO, bring the rear down a little more and drive the he** out of it. :D

Your truck looks great Dale. I emailed summit about the fitment of the legend 6 wheels on our trucks as i have 68 i'm restoring. They told me they wouldn't fit over the front hub. I'm doin a disk brake conversion (which i listed in the email) as you did but also was thinking of staying 6 lug to keep the cost down. Guess summit didn't know what they were talking about cause they look great on your truck and looks to be no fitment issues. My truck is going to have a 5/7 drop so i was thinking of running 17x8 with 5.25" backspacing front and 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing rear but on the same tires you used. Also i would keep the color that is on your truck now unless its needs new paint. I think it looks great the way it is, and i love that seat the piping looks amazing. Anyways good luck with the truck.

I'm sorry, I have been working on the doors the last couple of days so I have not checked the board. I think you made a good choice on the Summit legends. I never ask summit if they would fit, I just read the specs listed and I knew what backspacing I needed. 5.25" BS on the front may be to much. I used 4.5 BS and the wheel sets just inside the wheelwell however I did not lower my truck as much as you are planning so you may need 5.25 BS.

You know, the truth is the green paint job was done by the PO I got the truck from. It looks pretty good in the pics from 15 ft. ,but its a cheap paint job not even as good as a Maaco paint job. And I really don't like the all green color. I do like the Green/white paint on Nate's "Blank Slate" project, however Nate's geen I believe has more blue in it, it almost is turquoise. I'm putting the truck in the paint shop on Monday, Soo....I need to decide on a color pretty soon.;);)

Nate,

I'm not going to mention anything about "Center Hubs", trying to avoid "the wrath of the truck gods", I just got this thing on the road, I do not want to jinx it now!!

I have spent the last two days gutting the doors and stripping the interior to get the truck ready to go in the paint shop monday. Still trying to decide on the color. After I get the truck back from the paint shop, I have bought all new internals and hinges for the doors. The door regulators, latches, etc. are completely worn out hence the rebuild.

Dale,... what color was your truck from the factory?
Please pick a 1969 only color if you do decide to change colors.
Your truck deserves to look like a factory fresh truck.

Keith,

I found out the answer to that question today when I stripped the interior. The truck was Blue with a white top. The cab floor is blue and I found white paint under the windsheild rubber seal. Not sure I want to paint it a twotone, however I might go with the blue color.

If it doesn't have the chrome strip dividing the top from the bottom of the cab,... I would paint it one color also.

Just pick one,...

Keith,

You are right, the old girl deserves a new suit. I have decided to paint her the original #507 light blue, the same color she had on her when she rolled out of the factory.;););)
