Re: most original 60-66 truck in existence?
i have my '66 insured through Chubb, and they send out a newsletter every so often...i saved this from one of the past ones...i had my wife scan it because i couldn't get it into a small enough format to attach here...i was able to upload it to Photobucket, but it might be hard to read for some folks...if you're interested, shoot me a PM with your email, & i'll send you the original file
it's gotta be one of the rarest 4x4 survivors around: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...bs/truck21.jpg |
Re: most original 60-66 truck in existence?
Based upon what it would take to restore a truck to similar condition, my take is that this was one heck of a deal at a little over 15k, not just market value. Factor in a premium for the low mile, all-original aspect, and it's just stupid cheap.
Auctions are risky for sellers, as you never know who is or is NOT there to bid that day. The buyer on that day got very lucky. Same truck was sold a year or two before for about for 21k, which still wasn't bad. |

Mine is not clean but she seems pretty original except for the hubcaps, CB, MSD box (WTF?) and winch...

Cool, nice steering wheel, like the bungie cord keeping the door shut I presume?

Re: most original 60-66 truck in existence?
lol YES! Had to get it home without taking something out....

Re: most original 60-66 truck in existence?
That's really cool. Personally, I would love to see it with the factory skinny wheels when it's such an (otherwise) stock and original truck. But I can definitely appreciate the aesthetic you've created with the wider rubber, too. At least the hubcaps are there. That's big bonus points in my book!

Love that 60 truck. I hope one day I can get mine to look like that. It is hard to believe that there are some trucks out there that are in that shape. I am from Texas and growing up I see these trucks on the farms and they are always beat up. Like mine. It is great to see one in good shape. Great truck!

It's really great to see your contributions to this thread. As you might have noticed, sometimes the originality threads on the forum can lag a bit. We've got a little momentum going here with these recent additions ...so keep em coming, I know you can.
Also, I don't even care that it's the wrong generation for us 60-66ers, I gotta see more of that black truck. |

Nah, no interest. ...What, are you kidding! Lets see it AND the Belair! Those two vehicles may not 60-66 trucks, but otherwise they are EXACTLY what this thread is about. |
Re: most original 60-66 truck in existence?
Your 4x4 and that blue one, are just awesome. So are the others as well. Do you have a name for each of them. The pics show some other trucks as well, are those yours too?

Heres the pictures. Notice the house style building it was in. The 57 I didnt have any interest in but there is one picture. I still have the aluminum cap that saved the bed. The roof leaked and the cap kept the water off the wood.http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...CK/Pic1480.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j.../P92911703.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P9291175.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P9291174.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P9291173.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P9291172.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P9291171.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P9291170.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P1141331.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P1141329.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P1141328.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...K/P1141325.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j.../NewImages.jpg |

wow. I was so busy drooling over the blue 60 I didn't notice the black 59 at first. But then, of course, I wet my pants. I LOVE that 59, it is quite perfect.
