It's the only one that runs right now. Ha.
I haven't done anything to it since you saw it last year.
I guess I'll be bringing it to the Kansas Goodguys event.

Good to know. Atleast you have truck(s) and a blazer you can work on, all I have is my Riviera......for now, and that's what I'm bringing to KS GG.

It's a bagged '63 Riviera!
You know I love the Rivs.
I'm glad I will be able to check it out in person.

As I previously posted,... I wasn't very happy with the window trim from Classic Parts.
If the trim got any kind of wrinkle in it while it was in the packaging,... it was there to stay.
Out it came.
$30 down the drain.

I ordered new trim from Steele Rubber Products,... which was just PUI Interiors product dropped shipped to me.
These are much higher quality and have the small chrome bead along the top.
Much better!

Since the window trim is finally done I installed the door panels.
Upper trim got beadblasted and painted a satin silver.

The original door panels on this truck had been "spray bombed" a color that was close to original,... but looked crappy.
I got these original paint door panels and arm rests from member Joesjunk.

I have a pet peeve with the aftermarket interior door handles.
The first picture is a "Counterparts" brand interior handle from Classic Parts.
See how it sets on the splined shaft?
It either points up,... or points down.
The second picture is my NOS GM handles.
These are the ones I will be using.
I wish the aftermarket could get a few minor details right.

Now I'm looking for NOS window cranks.

Not going to Fort Worth this year.
We'll be in Springfield, MO, that weekend... at the Street Machine Fall Nationals.

My buddy hot trux and I are talking about heading to the Texas Goodguys event in the spring of 2012.

Those door panels look good! Just can't wait to see what else you might have lurking around there for the interior. :)

The PUI window trim looks 10x better.

Thanks,... I wish I was working in it.
Started the shop build in 2005.
Got the outside done,... and then got a divorce.
It's not finished on the inside.
It's mainly storage for my junk.
I work in my house garage,... for now.

Keith,

Sorry to hear about the divorce, also sorry to hear of your troubles with you 69. I really like that truck too! Your 70 is coming along nicely.

Ray

Thanks.
I need to build another shop, so I can move all of my junk out of this one,... and finish it!

I found these pics over at Nathan Porter's website,...www.PorterbuiltFabrication.com.
http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.co...ickman-Designs.

These are the amazing creations of Carter Hickman.
(of Carter Hickman Designs).

The only thing in common with Ginger,... is the basic color, and the fact that it's a '70 stepside.
I'm building the "beater version" of this truck.

Since I had no updates,... I had to post.:metal:

Thanks for the info on the window trim Keith. Bout ready to purchase those items myself.
Did you by chance try and heat them (rubber trim) up to see if they smoothed out any? If they do, maybe you can sell and recoup some $$.
Can't blame you for your attention to detail on the inner handles, that'd drive me nuts if one was different than the other, knowing the AM was inferior that much more.

I didn't try to heat them.
I put the Classic Parts weatherstrip on my red '69,... and it wasn't too bad.
These looked terrible.

From now on,... I will alway buy the PUI Interiors part.
Much nicer.
But also more than double the price!

Goodguys is a reality check on my abilities.
I can't weld,... and that part sucks.
I will be mocking up the front clip soon.

I'd like to buy a mig welder soon,... but that takes away from truck money.
I spent a bunch recently on my red '69.
I'd like to have someone fix the rockers and rust issues on the blazer over the winter.

Having three trucks to work on, spreads me pretty thin money-wise.
I'm not sure what the plan is.

You may not be able to weld now but if you get a decent mig with gas you will be to do welds good enough for body work for sure.

If you were closer I would barter with you on the rocker replacement. That's a pretty easy task.

You ready to thin the herd so you can focus on one or two:)
