Re: Project... Tired of not having a daily driver!

Thanks Scott!
Looks like it will be done and drivable real soon. I'm waaayyyy off from the Feb-March timeline but this truck will be a very dependable, capable and decent looking driver for less than $5k. That's hard to do for the truck I will have in the end. Disc brakes, crate motor, new transmission, all new brakes and lines and a good interior too.
I found a crate LS3 for the medium bronze truck that isn't being used so I'm in negotiations for it at the moment. Wish me luck and I hope you have a great night tonight.
Happy fourth to all!

Can't get enough of this tailgate! Can't Waite to finish polishing it out with the rest of the truck.
Bumper and hitch are on but I don't have that pic yet.

I think the wheels and mirrors are gonna go white and the bed cap may have to go too.
The cap has several cracks showing and I don't want to spend more time to restore it too.

That is just sweet Mike... Let me know when you can scope the bed floor out for me... I will be heading your way Sunday afternoon...

Mike,
I have a nice 1970 hood, with the blue emblem still on it, if you need one, along with two stock fuel tanks. these are left overs from my parts stash. I have several other items I'll pass onto to you as well, just have to find a way to get them there! Your Project is looking real good!!!
Have a good one!

Re: Project... Tired of not having a daily driver!

Dan, Mike and Ben,
Thanks for noticing the trucks coming along. It's tough getting things done lately but I'm moving into the home away from home next week so I can do some work on it later this month.
I'll try to help get that bed floor cut this weekend Dan. And I'm not looking for parts at the moment Ben, but if the hood emblem is in good driver shape I could use it.
Thanks guys for checking in, I'll get some additional pics this weekend and hopefully get the rims painted. I have a set of 8.25x16.5s that need some tires when all the dust settles. I just need some tires for them.
Mike

Hey Mike... I have been getting the tires for the Bug truck from Matt @ Mario's Tires on N. 29th... They have great pricing and he is just a nice guy... The place certainly isn't much to look at and it is a challenge to get into but I like supporting small business guys trying to scratch out a living... You might give him a call...

Thanks Dan! I'll give him a call. I'll probably go online because they are expensive for most people to keep them in stock or even warehoused. Never know maybe there is a stockpile in Wichita.

We'll it's been a while since I updated this thread. I have the truck running and driving. I wanted to post a few pics for everyone. I still need to work on a few small things but it's ready for driving. I've been driving it back and forth to work this week.
