Here is a pic of my 63. Just got it about a month ago. The plate that bolts to the tranny that connects the different linkage broke the day after I got it so I have not had a chance to do much to her yet.
The tan and red pic is a quick photo chop of what I kinda want to go for. That could change over and over again before it gets done. Thanks This site is fantastic. |

Right on fellas...cool trucks !!!

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
That is funny, how much you pay for yours. I gave $700. Has a 230 with a 3 speed. Pretty solid except for the floors, rockers, and bottom of the fenders.
I sold a 78 Ford F150 to buy it. The ford was a lot more solid but for what it would cost to get the I beam suspension dropped 3 inches I can practically bag this one. |
Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
i paid 750 for mine it has a 4 speed and the only thing i need to do to the body is fix a couple dent new fenders up front and 2 holes on the bedsides. so its not to bad
oh yeah and i already got a new chrome bumper for the front for 25 bucks and im getting a tailgate this weekend |
Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Yes it is a custom hood, i built it with a buddy of mine, Looks sweet but it is not one of the lightest things i have done to the truck. It is cut done the body line and we made a piece to fit in the gap until i looked the best. We actually started on another to be a little taller but have not yet finished it.
Here is a pic of the engine http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41/twotons/489BBC.jpg This is when i finished the cage http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41...s/DSCN1395.jpg And as i ws installing the FAT MAN mustanf 2 front suspension http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41...s/DSCN2361.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41...s/DSCN2360.jpg |

I ll see what i have for pics, as far as the angles, i did the bars about 7 years ago when i still had all the front end in it and the factory htr, so both of them are not really the same, i just made them work, lol.

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Twotons.. How do you like that NX kit? I just bought the same for my LS1.. switching over to a singleplain intake but keeping the fuel injection.
Also, any idea what your truck weighs? I'm assuming it's all steel minus the hood? |

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Super 73, it is a ok kit so far, really havent sprayed a ton with it, last weekend the truck went 10.38 @ 125 laying down a little on top end,, was spraying a 150 shot wit paump gas, the truck with me wieghs in at 4175 pounds. The hood is steel as well as the rest of the truck, I did a Fatman fab front end and deleted my inner wheel wells is all.
|
Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
So being 3,840 all steel is pretty good. That's with about 100lbs added in to the tailgate. I notice your still on steel wheels and with a Bigblock. Thinking I might be tipping the scales at about 3,690ish next time at the track still being all steel. Pulled the bench seat out and replaced it with a couple Summit racing seats.. Dropped 50lbs with that. Also pulling the weight out of the gate. Thinking about cutting the inner fender wells off the hood springs.. Hmmm.. What else can I do…

Here are a few shots of my '66 Chevy C10 lwb fleetside. I have had this one for about 6 years and I just got it back on the road...due to someone breaking into my lot and stealing a lot of the top-end accessories.
I call her LILRD66 and that is what is on the antique auto license plate. This is also my screen name as a tribute to her. This was my first go-round at restoring a 4-5-6 Chevy truck. All that is left is the bed, as you can see in the pictures. |

And here's her '65. I wish it were closer to home. Here's the cab on the chassis, 283 and th350 in place. The 283 has since been pulled back out in favor of a rebuilt 350 with 1.94 camel back heads, mild cam, Edelbrock intake and carb. I hope to get that dropped in very soon. We've also installed a deluxe steering wheel we scored from Tony (LILRED66) and a factory automatic steering column.
Sorry for taking so long Babe!! :chevy: |
