I believe the hump style couplings will give the piping some room to flex. yes A flat style raised inner fender will be a nice area to set random stuff when working on it. Beer, tools.

Looks super!
Cant understand how you can have more room for the brake MC than I have though :-) I actually bought the same Wilwood unit. I'll make it fit.

Is your D-max from a van? That would explain less room as everything is coming forward from the back of the motor. If the only thing in the way is boost tube and maybe glow plug module then just relocate as needed. Build is looking great. Just make it fit.

Some progress from today. Got new front fenders at portland swap meet for $350 last weekend. Overall fit is pretty good at door jams. Had to cut front of passenger rocker as it was sticking out to far for alignment. Only areas that will need some massaging are front lower corners were they meet the core support. I think we might weld the seam at the front between the edge of the grill and fender. The pinch welds are not great were they joined the two pieces. Also tried to fit the hood I planned on using and the back brace is really bent like someone was standing on it. Option either cut a brace out of another hood I have or find another hood. It has very little rust but has dents. Thanks CHIZZLER.

That was a nice score on the fenders and a pretty decent fit too. Truck is looking good Chizzler.

WOW just went through your build and one word (AWESOME).. Takes a lot of creativity to tackle something like that, awesome sheet-metal work.. I'm usually not a big fan of lowered trucks cause I like the 4x4's but that is going to be a one of a kind custom truck.. and I also love your garage the outside of it with the ole barnwood...and the corrugated metal at the bottom..I'll be watching this build....

Made some progress over the weekend. Got the 14 bolt sf back from being narrowed. Had it cut down to 60" with the brakes. Went pretty smooth using captain fab's weld on trailing arm mounts. Great fit. Only thing we had to do was cut the PB lower shock mount bar and bend a new piece and weld it back in the middle. Pumpkin size is bigger and was hitting. Fuel tank will be next and going to replace the back frame section with some 4x3 steel and connect the back together. I was able to send the axles to dutchman and have them cut down and re-splined. Thanks CHIZZLER

Diff looks really good sitting in there. Your lucky you could shorten the shafts, I had to buy custom. How big is your fuel tank?

Did they just cut and weld the axle tubes in between the center section and the backing plate flange?

Some progress. Unbolted the rear frame rails and started over. They were pretty beat up and bent. Used 4x3 3/16" and welded to the notches. We then fit the fuel tank at the back and kept some room in the front to mount two 5 gallon air tanks. Also using the viair compressor mounts 0ne on each side. The boss got the bed blasted and we did some mock up with it and overall not bad. The drivers side tail light panel will need to be replaced and maybe the rear stake pocket. Some minor patching and some hammer and dolly and it should be pretty good. Next will be making a new inner bed structure to support the raised floor. Thanks CHIZZLER

Yes doug 5 gallon tanks. They are 33x7 without the mounting bracket.

That looks sweet! I really like your tank and nice choice to redo that rear frame. It looks so much nicer and will be way stronger too.

That looks great having the box back on. Are the air tanks going to be showing when the bed gets put in?

Nothing will be showing. The bed floor will be raised just over the notches.

More progress on the bed. Started building the raised bed with original crossmembers. Also used a rear bed crossmember and welded it at the end by the tailgate so the wood will sit like factory. Next we will cut the rear wheel tubs down and shorten them. Got another hood and pre fit it. Overall not bad. Thanks chizzler.

On a sad note. Got the 40 fired up and had a major fuel leak from one of the three carb's and had a engine fire. Figured it was easier to pull the motor/trans to fix wiring and clean everything. Luckily I was able to get the fire out fairly quick and it didn't do any major damage to anything else. You can see how hot it got by the smoke ring on the wheel and the tranny seal let go. The trans had been making a weird noise so it's a good time to have it looked at. Chizzler
