Thanks Rus I was happy with the fact that they only cost $36. That TruckShop both was packed and their prices were good and you could even barter if you bought multiple items :D Should of bought the comfort grip steering wheel :dohh:

Thanks Rick. Man I really wanted to stay and talk for a while and look at your truck until that lady went Nazi on us. My wife said she was just staring out at us :uhmk: Oh well we will have to get together for some photos of the trucks. Thanks on the compliment.

What truck doors got the "custom" badge and what truck doors got the "cst" badge.
I realize it was a 67-68 trim piece.

I thought "cst" was a 69-72 blazer thing.

Thanks for the thread Kieth. I do know that the 67 truck my seats came out of was a CST and had these style door badges. The spid also showed custom sport truck. I always assumed the custom level was the same as my 72 custom deluxe. Chrome window trim and chrome vent wing windows with chrome interior goodies. I also am pretty sure that only the CST trucks had buddy buckets. With all the options I have added to this tuck I just felt that the CST badges were appropriate. :D

I dig the emblems....I need a Patina'd truck, so cool!

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread

Thanks butternut. One of the many joys of having a patina truck is the lack of worry when parking in parking lots. You can park right in front and no cares if it gets a ding or dent.

Getting closer. Got the brake calipers today. The one item left to get for the disc brake swap is the hard line kit.

Just walked back from the tranny shop next door and here it is apart, should be back together today or tomorrow hopefully. They are doing this in between regular customers so I have to be patient.

Ok once again I went ahead and did something without taking pics along the way :dohh: Since I've owned the truck I have had to deal with a banging noise from within the gas tank. On my 72 it was a simple matter of replacing the fuel level sender, so I assumed it would be the same here. I also have had a fuel gauge that would go clear to 3 o'clock and would run me out of gas at 1/16th of a tank on the gauge. So.. I replaced the fuel level sender and went and put $20 worth of gas which out here is like 5 gallons. Considering the gauge was on "E" I am happy with the fact that it shows a quarter tank.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread

Well I have some good news and some bad news. The th350 case is cracked and the drum inside is shot so my tranny core is no good. The good news is I/we have decided to just go ahead and do a rebuilt 700r4. Life is about to hit the fast lane at 75mph with 20+ miles per gallon :metal:

Bummer news :( but I'm definitely gonna be voicing ideas off ya for the 700r swap since we're in the same direction. Have you found a crossmember to support the tranny and what you're gonna do with the driveshaft since the tails are longer on the 700r's??

The same automatic crossmember will work, you will just have to drill a hole in the middle of the othe two holes where the mount goes. As far as the driveshaft I was gonna have to get a new one made or modify my old one so that price will still be the same.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread

So we can sty original with the 350 auto crossmember and drill a new hole to accommodate for the 700r? Will the bushings be different at all? And yeah I'll probably have a driveshaft built for mine but I do like how lightweight mine is
