Thanks man

Here are the pics you requested. It has an O-ring seal at the block that just slips into place.

Check out the the tire/wheel combo!!! They are Showwheels polished Streeters 20x8.5 front and 20x10 back. The tires are 245/35-20 front and 275/35-20 back. I love the way it turned out and these wheels are a killer deal.

Yup, when I get the paint redone I am hoping to have those filled in. It will give it the true '67 look.

Made a little progress. I installed door switches so that my courtesy lights and dome light will light up when the doors are opened. This truck didn't originally have them, so it's a nice addition. I also installed a Retro Sound Model 1 stereo and started making some custom kick panels. This is my first time using fiberglass and it wasn't too bad. I am going to make a fiberglass center console and sub box as well...Now that I'm a pro.

very nice work looks like a factory install this is the second ls based build thread I'm following the other is usmcchevy's, and the more I read about ls motors in these trucks and see how nice they look gets me to thinkin' I want to do this swap to that old '68 stepside when i get home. Can't wait to see more updates.

Thanks guys...I'm glad I can inspire others to improve these trucks (in my opinion) and keep them on the road. I have loved these trucks for as long as I can remember and I hate to see them go unused.

I feel exactly the same way. It doesn't matter if its all original, a stock restoration, a resto mod like ours, or rat rod. as long as its still out there pounding the pavement.

It is a Spectre intake (from Pep Boys) part #9900. I had to hack it up quite a bit, but the parts are there.

I will be at the show at the Victoria Gardens cruisin' around tomorrow. If anyone else is there from the forum I'd love to meet up.

SSchevimp, if you need any advise, or just want to see what the finished (somewhat) product is like just PM me and maybe we could get together.

Here is a pic of one of the finished speaker pods. I will try and get one of them installed soon. They turned out great. It is so nice to have a little music in the truck.

Great build, I'm in the planning stage for a 6.0. Do you know about how much you spend to install the motor exclulding the cost of the motor?
Thanks, George

Thanks, I am enjoying it. I drive it every day to work and it drives great. I'm sorry, I don't know how much I have into it. I have done a little at a time as my expenses allowed, so it's hard to say.

I have been building cars and trucks for a lot of years and just wanted to complement you on your build!! Everything fits as it should and nothing out of place. You are not just a mechanic but a true craftsman. Well done.

Hey, that kick panel looks great! Did you just make a template and start glassing it? What material did you cover it with? Got any pics installed? Nice!

Wow, what a great compliment. It is really nice when a fellow builder appreciates all the hard work that goes into this type of project. Thanks!!!

Yes, I just made a template out of cardboard first, then transferred it to 1/4" MDF. Then I made the speaker cut-out out of 1/2" MDF. Then I just covered it with an old T-shirt. Just spread on a healthy coat of resin, wait for it to harden, and then lay on a few layers of glass (with more resin). Then, sand down the high spots, fill in the lows with body filler, and sand one more time to final shape. I will get pics of the installed pods soon.
