Re: 67c10 build
The rear pan hard bar was straight so I had a friend bend it for me to clear the diff cover. Thanks for the compliment there Sanderson bb8s

Re: 67c10 build

I bought a reproduction fender, don't remember the manufacture, and just kept fighting it to make it fit. I got so frustrated I cut up the fender and fixed my original. I'm officially a firm believer there is no replacement for oe metal

The rear of the fender was so beat up I replaced it also

Driver side was about the same as far as work but only partial inner rocker and this side needed a little bit of the floor pan

Re: 67c10 build

I lucked out, all the cab supports were good so I just hit them with some rust converter and primed them
|
Re: 67c10 build

Had to split the rocker on this side to get it to align with the door

Re: 67c10 build
Someone's been busy, build looks awesome keep up the
good work! |
Re: 67c10 build
very nice updates, looking good

Re: 67c10 build
Thanks Cameron, how's yours coming along? Hope to attend my first meet next year with my truck. Hector I ended up going with your tires size, looks much better now in my opinion. Can't wait to see those rally's on your truck.

Re: 67c10 build
Haven't made much progress but I hope to bend up all of my brake lines starting next week.

Rust is evil. Found a little more when trying to fill a pin hole. Took a 2" wholesale and made a series of holes till I found no more rust

Re: 67c10 build

Re: 67c10 build

|
Re: 67c10 build
Nice job on those fenders
|
Re: 67c10 build
You're doing a great job on the metal work!! That's the one thing on my 67 that I'm not looking forward to.

Today's a new day so I hope I have better luck with these pictures. Bad pictures can really make a build thread so sideways, haha. Cab is officially done! After nearly 4 months I have finally completed the metal work. Went with ppg dp40 and it turned out great. The fact that my cab is rust free feels like a huge accomplishment.
|
Re: 67c10 build
I actually ended up reblasting my cab. It was covered in surface rust and I spent hoursss picking seam seal out of every last corner

And here she sits. I had to throw on a fender to see the stance and I love it. I'm finally happy with the overal look. I'm really getting excited to get this thing going. Unfortunately there is no way I'll meet my goal of this summer. If all goes as plan I'll be driving the wheels off it next summer. I'd like to tell you guys the color but I really can't decide. I've had this almost 2 years now and can't pick a color and stay with it.

I bet that little big block can't wait to breath again. Wonder what kind of mileage I can expect out of a set of tires??

Mocked up a piece of my new mar-k trim. This stuff is sweet. The quality of the box they ship it in is worth the cost. The shine is no comparison to others. Hope to hang the doors and frot clip this week so I can get everything mocked up. Hope everyone likes where this is going...
|
Re: 67c10 build
I can tell you I love where it is going, looks awesome. I laughed a little when I read your comment about picking a color. You sound like me
|
Re: 67c10 build
Man its looking good. Don't worry about the color, one day it will just hit you as to what it needs to be.
|
Re: 67c10 build
Thanks guys, hopefully I get something in mind soon since I'll be ready hopefully in the next month or two
|
Re: 67c10 build
looking good. are you leaning more towards classic color or newer colors ?
|
Re: 67c10 build
Classic for sure. I want the truck to pretty much be stock looking. All the trim emblems etc. I'd like to stay 67-72 colors, not real worried about just 67 color. I've been thinking about medium olive and white below my trim
|
Re: 67c10 build
The truck looks great.
All the time you spent doing the metal work really payed off. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. I can't wait to see what's next. |
Re: 67c10 build
That looks REALLY GOOD!!! I love the stance, trim, wheels and that engine sure looks pretty!
|
Re: 67c10 build
Thanks again guys. I honestly did the metal work because I don't have the money to pay someone. The shop I asked for was looking for 4k to get my cab ready for paint. In the end I learned a good skill, saved myself alottt and feel I did a better job. All underlying medal was cleaned and primed. I ground all the welds on bottom when I did the inner rockers so the repairs won't stand out.

Re: 67c10 build
Thanks Keith. I have a big side job lined up with a painter so if all goes well we will trade labor and both buy supplies.
Thanks kyle, I really wish this could get one of your paint jobs I think the truck really deserves it |
Re: 67c10 build
Great looking build man, Im gonna have to pull the cab on my 67 in a few years and do everything that you have done on yours as well as cab supports... looking forward to updates.
