Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
What is everyone using to latch their tailgates after you shave the chains ? I want something that is super clean, any ideas ?

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Posts 93-104 of my build shows what I am using!
I think it is pretty nice anyways! |
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
you could use some thin stainless steel cables that feed through some metal pipes intoo the bodywork

Hey Mike, sheet metal looks real good. I used stuff from WOW products for my latch and tailgate props. Here's a link to their site Here's a couple pics showing how it looks in my truck...Jim http://www.wow-products.com/images/latch_schematic.gif

Well we picked up the first batch back from getting some PPG DP90 epoxy shot on it by Gary Angel of Street Driven Customs. I found a set of 7 inch rallys to throw on the car hauler and went ahead and cleaned them up also. The doors are pretty clean just a little patch work to do on the bottoms.

While we were in Hobbs NM we got a tip and found a fellow board member Andy at " The Shop" and picked up a nice 63 grill !
We do have a little rust repair to do on the passenger fender, anyone have a nice one they want to get rid of ? |
Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Just a bit of rot, not bad at all..

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
the 63 grill looks great, clean enough to plate. other than that right side front fender everything seems an easy fix. how is the brace on it?
this sunday i'm supposed to go out to a family's farm and look at several mid 60's trucks they're selling. they have a bunch of loose parts too and i'll see about a passengers fender. let me know before then if you need something else. i'm pumped because one of their trucks is a factory utility bed and you know i'm weak for those... |

when I called they asked what I was building and what it was going to be used for, after talking to them they actually refer me to another chrome plating shop as the mostly do high end builds. |

I have used John Wright's Custom Chrome Plating , Grafton Ohio. 440-926-3116.
They did the chrome on the 57 Chevy Truck Quicksilver also. Finished in the Great 8 and won Barrett-Jackson Hot August Nights. I have been very happy with the work they have done for me ..... Highly recommend them. |
