I would go with the dog dish, but if you have both sets you can just swap them out! I have three sets of caps for mine and I go back and forth on which ones I like most.

Ive even thought of doing one set on one side and the other on the opposing side, probably for shows only, couldnt bare to drive it and lose them while on the highway since theyre both so hard to find.

And you dont see them often either! Ive only seen a few trucks over the years with them on, and have never seen any in person at all

Flip down bracket for my Holley EFI screen! Mounts with two small screws and has adjustable hinge tension.

I found it on Facebook about a year ago, the guy was 3D printing them and posted one in a group Im in, I dont recall how much he charged but it wasn't bad. Im not sure he makes them anymore, Ill double check with him and if he does Ill put his info up here

Door skin on the passenger side is complete. Lots of grinding and sanding work but its all done. Came out way better than expected honestly.

Went to a ratrod show in Clayton NC over the weekend as well, and found one of the trucks that peaked my interest in 67-72s that lay on the ground. Havent seen this truck in years, had followed it on social media but to this day still cant find it online, awesome truck.

Got kind of concerned about driving with inner fenders this low, so I removed the sprig on the passenger side and moved the wheel all the way up and wow... does not rub. I can put it all the way against the end of the shocks vertical travel and spring the wheel. Surprising for sure!

That's cool you got to see that GMC. I saw it at the C10 Fall Revival in '21 and it's surprising to stand next to because it's sooo low. I guess you can have that effect when you literally cut the rockers off your truck!

That's nice that you clear the stock inners, although it's dangerous doing a test like that. Now you know you need more low! I still haven't figured out what to do with mine. Until then I am just going to run without inners.

When I see trucks like that, where theyre just having fun, it really makes me rethink my stressors, like dang man stop stressing over that small gap in the body line and just get it driving!

Im still not super sold I wont have a good bit of interference, so I may end up modifying my stock ones like they did on the Nacho truck. I havent seen guys modify the stock ones much, they either go without or do the Stoner/Hills or Slosh Tubz. Nice products, but I can think of a lot of stuff I can get for a grand to get me on the road! Namely Porterbuilt control arms, or even saving that for a Dropmember (a man can dream :lol: )

Some fake patina stuff here, did the drip rails and the bow above the windshield, I need to do some sanding and maybe some extra hits from a spray can but they came out okay. And one pic of some real deal hardcore patina as well :lol:

Stepping away from the build stuff..

On Friday, June 16th at 4:53AM my dad, Michael Seal II, took his last breath. It has been a long, long road and fight with cancer, which I will explain in this post.
He was diagnosed with glioblastoma in June of 2020 after we had talked to him about his speech beginning to slur and at times be unrecognizable. They found the large tumor almost immediately upon x-ray. The doctor explained this disease to us and him, and basically said to eat all the bacon, ham and eggs you can "cause you've got maybe a month." We were shocked, distraught, confused, and most of all, lost. Those feelings materialized into a post on Facebook, which led to someone seeing it and reaching out with contact info for a doctor in Wisconsin. I may also add, the doctor here in Virginia told us there was zero fix for this. Well, this doctor in Wisconsin is supposedly one of few doctors in the world who operates on this disease. He motioned us to get there as soon as humanly possible, his team working out the details over the weekend when they were off the clock, it was amazing the leg work into this. We took the soonest flight out and rented the hotel. Its still June at this point. We had to drive back, as brain surgery does not take well to altitude. The doctor in Wisconsin states he was confident that he removed 98-99% of the tumor, as this is a exceedingly difficult cancer to remove. He states that we need to immediately start chemo and radiation. To cut this story short, we went from a few weeks to live to an undefined amount of time. This disease has very little data, and the longevity post surgery has nearly zero data, and his disease always comes back, it will never go away, but it wont show until the very end. We ended up having three years and three days since his initial diagnosis. It had been very tough, he lost his ability to cognitively speak, write or even perform most tasks, eventually lost his ability to cognitively understand. The last time I got any response out of him was a week before he passed, the 24 Hour De Lemans was on and I pulled his bed in view of the TV, and explained to him that Hendrick was in the race for the first time in decades, representing NASCAR, and said "aint that cool?" He nodded.

Here in Williamsburg, VA there is a place called Hospice House. It is filled with the most kind staff, they are helpful, energetic, and emotionally responsive. And this one is unique, it is free of cost, and an absolutely beautiful establishment. I will never forget their hospitality and grace. This allowed him to have 100%, around the clock attention, and to allow us to have a place to go, that did not feel like a hospital, and be with him for his final days.

In the midst of it all, I found myself back in the garage, looking for things to do (no shortage with a project) and decided I was tired of getting no call backs on a windshield install. I decided to install it myself, trim and all. First time ever doing it, especially nervous with the trim aspect. But its in, and a throwback to the old C10 Club stickers, I bought that little decal in like 2014/15 when I got into these trucks. Finally found its home.

Also found the color for the roof, the photo makes it look more plain white than it is, its more of a antique white (we used Wimbledon White as a reference) and found Nissan had something close apparently. I also finished the passenger door inside. Now onto fauxtina-ing it.

Man I'm sorry for what you and your father had to go through. It's almost the identical path my mom had to walk, and we got to be with her for 3 years after her initial brain tumor surgery also. God bless you for being by his side through that. Is that your dad in the picture giving the thumbs up? Y'all hang in there, eventually the pain subsides and the great memories rise to the surface.

Totally gutted to hear about your dad. It's easy to forget sometimes on the forum that everyone has so much more going on behind the scenes than just updates on their build progress. It's good that you were able to get more time with him and that he received such great care. There's still good out there in the world, you just have to find it.

Im sorry to hear that you had to experience the same ordeal, its not fun at all. Luckily we were given time, and I think that has helped quite a bit. Yes, that photo is him. That was after we found a super cherry old bench from a '72 Suburban to put in my old '70. 50 bucks on eBay in 2016 and it was only 1 hour from me!

That is very true, we all see each other as trucks and truck builds :lol: "I cant point him out in a lineup but I know which truck is his!" Its easy to forget we are all people. The forum has been a great escape for me as well, a place where I can talk trucks, post pictures of my work and see some great builds and forget all that surrounds me! Ill never forget all the memories, he got me into these trucks which tapped into a talent I never knew I had, which changed the course of my life in a way. So many great people Ive met, memories, and all those stemmed from him getting me into the C10s. He always told me he wished he had honed in on the hot rod/performance/truck world, custom stuff and such. Im working on getting there!

Yes they are. Me and my family appreciate the prayers. Its been a long week, feels like a year. But thankfully I've got my hobbies to keep me occupied, I think that's something he'd want me to do.

Some faux-tina stuff here. I used my opposing door as a guide for where typical patina marks would be. Of course, arm on door spots, some sun baking through the vent window, worn away area below the vent window latch, speaker grille wear was my idea, I figured a OE truck (if these were actually put in them) speaker grille would have some paint separation on the grilles of it. Then the hand rest on the upper window frame area, and the grab section on the rear part of the window frame.

Sorry to hear the news of your Father passing. I lost my Father three years ago this August after having lived with my family for the prior 8 years. He had dementia, which is also somewhat difficult to deal with. He just reached a point where physically he looked like my Dad, but mentally he was not. I miss him.

Truck is looking fantastic - mine is still down - waiting for a steering column to replace my stock one. Late =( should have been here two weeks ago, and no idea really, when it will ship. Supply issues stink. Keep up the awesome work - still plan to come check it our when mine is back running.

I really really like those speaker grills in the doors. If my doors weren't together and finished I might actually go and do that on mine. Looks so clean and looks absolutely stock

Im sorry to hear that man. Dementia is terrible. Ive had customers with it, its terrible. I suppose we are all lucky for the time we get, no matter the difficulty during, me and my family all still say if we had to do it again we would.
Hopefully you get that column in! I know how frustrating it can be to wait on parts. A week can feel like eternity.

Thank you for the kind words. The last few years certainly were a blessing, they taught me a lot. Im 27, so I dont have many friends in a similar boat, so it can be tough at times to navigate. I get a lot of enjoyment from this project, no matter how difficult it sometimes gets, at the end of the day I find myself fulfilled. I dont think many people feel that same sense of accomplishment at the end of the day, and it helps immensely with the situation.

Passenger side door MOUNTED. Feels good. Last time it will go on (fingers crossed). Just have to patina match the bottom but that'll be a breeze.
Regulator in, vent window in, window glass in, and all hardware mounted. Even tossed on one of the GM Mark of Excellence badges, where I think they would have installed them, based off of Camaros and such I see online with them. The door fits well, sound deadened so it sounds solid, and just the right weight, it just falls shut with those Altman Easy Latches. I will have a local upholstery shop make me some one off door panels in a complimentary pattern like the seats. Only thing Im not too pleased on is the door felt on the outside, the clip broke. I have it glued on for now (hence the orange pic tools holding it in place), will decide if I want to go buy another set or just run it and call it a truck. Getting there !

Go for it! Really like the look of them. This is the 67-68 color, the laters were a darker blue.

Thank you! Came out pretty well I'd say. Very surprised with how well it shuts, sounds like those G-Wagons with the real solid, mechanical shuts. I'll have to find some way to upload a video :lol:

Last thing before vacation, took the factory 283 air cleaner housing and did some dimple die work. Saw someone else do this once, really liked how theirs came out. So, I decided why not do mine. More air flow too!

Another n2billet idea - dimple dies on the hood supports. He did same size throughout, I decided to do small-medium-small-medium. Came out pretty good. This hood is like a big cookie sheet, so Im going to add a cross support to square everything up. Im obviously a big fan of dimple dies now! :lol:

Air cleaner continuation.... this assembly was for the 2 barrel that came on the old 283, so I took a spare riser, chopped it to 1 5/16 and welded it in place to fit. Came out nice and low profile.

Diving in with both feet on this one. Cutting up the driver's side door. Hoping what I learned from the passenger side allows this to go easier, but this one is a tad bit crustier. And I'll get to enjoy the heat and humidity of summer as well

Appreciate it! Still debating if I will paint the underside of the hood or just do some sort of rust treatment. Honestly the underside looks good as it is, just worried about all that rust flaking getting worse and in return getting everywhere underhood. I was also quite concerned about air filter availability with that air cleaner, as no parts houses can get me one. So I ordered 5 off RockAuto :lol:

Finally got around to sandblasting and painting the grill inserts this past weekend, came out awesome. Really like this white, should look good on the roof.
