Thanks Jim. I like your solution, even though you had to repaint, it looks custom.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
I think it looks great! Remember if it were easy everybody would be doing it. That’s what makes your truck so awesome. Keep up the great progress. Now I’m motivated haha

Hey Guys, I take full blame for the goof up on the A/C mount.
That mount is very nice however it is wide and would be better suited for a C-10. That being said I used the Kwik Performance kit Item# K10291 $227 it brings it up higher and tighter (preventing cutting the inner fender) Mark |

Well here's todays update. Mark sanded the filler down and sprayed the primer.
I sanded down the primer with guide coat. After the final sanding Mark sprayed the teal paint. Will let this dry till Monday, then wet sand with 600 and paint again. Here's some pics...Jim |

Little update. On Sunday Mark wet sanded the inner fender with 600 paper and resprayed the teal paint.
This morning he wet sanded with 2500 to 3500 and buffed out the paint, it looks great (1st pic). Then we installed the front clip for the final time. Bolted everything back, hooked up wire to all the lights, heater hoses, and misc. items. Still waiting parts but getting real close to fire it up...Jim |

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Great day today. After a few small items taken care of we started the engine.
Fired up right away and sounded great. Only ran for a little while, still waiting parts to finish up the radiator hoses, etc. I still need to run power to the elec. fan, then make up new hoses for the AC. Didn't receive my shifter yesterday, called today and they said it will ship 12/15, hope so...Jim |
Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
That first start up is always a big check mark. Nice progress.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
it's amazing how the sound of a motor running makes all the work, money, sweat, dirt, grime, and sometimes blood, all worth while.
congratulations on the progress |

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build
Finished up all the wiring today, including fan. Filled trans with fluid, started the engine, Mark put it in gear and let it fill up the valve body, etc.. Got new AC lines cut to length, but waiting for more parts. Installed wheels and its back on the ground. Good day...Jim
