Re: My 52 GMC Build

Thanks Guys.
So a week ago we went away for the weekend with the truck and trailer. On the way home Sunday the weather was hot, 96* and 110* with humidity. The truck temperature stayed right at 190*, so all my cooling modifications work great. Yay.

I’m going to let let you keep the heat and humidity. Congrats on keeping your cool.

Had a failure on one of my air ride switches. The one that controls the 2 rear bags, seems like the pivot pin broke on the toggle. Makes it just flop around and do nothing. I had to use both rear switches to lift the rear for 2 days till I could fix it. This is the inside of the switch box. 11,400 mi and counting.

Boy O Boy, doing two burn outs side by side and getting them to match, that's some skill.

Bob, couldn't help myself, good burn out:burnout::cf:...Jim

So my next 50's truck build is still a few years off but I sort of started getting pieces together.
This is my new daily driver '85 s10 that I will use the frame of. Also I bought a VW 1.9L TDI with a 5 speed that I will put into the s10 next summer, so the drive train will be all ready for the old truck in a few years. It will be 2wd.

Is it as clean as it looks in the pics? Wow! It needs a 5.3l LS swap and a set of 5 spoke 3rd gen Camaro wheels!

Nice looking S-10. I’m interested in seeing the swap.

Frame is not to bad, just have to scrape and paint. Body has some patches in the floor. I have a set of the GM rims I had on my GMC last summer that will probably go on it. As for the 5.3 I'm on the diesel train right now, I want something really different.

So our beloved '87 Jimmy is gone :buh:. Bought it in Phenix AZ 4 years ago drove it home, it was my daily for 4 years and we sold it for $4700 more than we bought it for. The guy that bought it said he was going to fix it up like new and bring it back to show us.
