One more time on the wheel/tire specs? Short truck 12bolt (65-69/70)?

TOTM.
That's the look, right there.
Bone stock on the outside, bone crushing on the inside.
I can't wait for your next ruination project!

Chris it looks absolutely awesome I can't wait to see it once you get back to LA. I am going to make HRPT this year, had to work last year sorry to see you won't make it this year.

You’re gonna have a blast, Mike. I can’t wait to go again. Maybe next time, still lots to do to this ol’ girl before she’s ready. Headed to La, soon, see below

DAMN!!!! Exceptional job, Chris!!! I really liked the look of the truck pre-Porterbuilt, but this knocked it out of the ballpark's parking lot!

Thanks a lot! I can’t stop staring :smoke:

Wide ‘70 rear axle, converted to 5x5 with 71-87 axles. Prolly could use the clearance from the bedside of the narrow housing, but I like the look of them pushed out. The inner bed structure is long gone and needs a “Lucy mod” to be complete. Wheels/tires are “the standard”: front - 20x8.5, 5.25 BS, 255/40; rear - 20x10, 5.5 BS, 295/40

Much appreciated. Vote for Pedro  Though this one isn’t done (and never will be) I’ve been thinking about the next one and have a few ideas cooking...

Loaded up and ready for the long trek. Getting her on the trailer was a harrowing experience, due to the extreme low stance, but we made it work. Sure looks good sitting up there. Super happy with this stance :chevy:

I finally decided to log my journey with my old truck that led me to this forum and the addiction to it. Having always had an affinity for the 67-72 body style, I hoped to one day have a nice one, but as you all know, they're tough to find in decent shape for a decent price.

I had always been a sports car guy, dealing mostly with Trans-Ams, Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs and the like. It was this hobby that led me to my first 67-72 truck. I was surfing a local racing car club's forums one day when I saw a post about a guy wanting to sell or trade his '70 C10. Intrigued, I contacted him about the truck. He wanted cash or a trade for a street bike. Just so happened, I had a 1000cc Honda sitting in my garage taking up space, since I had recently given up riding having just had my first child, a daughter. Seeing your baby girl looking up at you, relying on you for absolutely everything, has a way of putting things in perspective... :)

It seemed to be a fairly solid truck, having been fairly recently 'restored' with a '90s step side bed, good paint, and updated suspension. After some bartering, we struck a deal for a straight-up trade- bike for a truck. Sweet! :metal:

Attached are the pics he posted on the car club forum...

Why does your Frame look Bent up words in the pic? Me I've never could understand why people put newer beds on their trucks I can understand about the LS motors parts you can't see But to me, it miss matching parts. It's like me trying to put a Comino bed from 1957 on my 1964 shortbed. I guess that's why this is the USA.

I hope La is good to you, Chris. The South is a magical place. Please have a safe move and always remember, Drive Fast; Get There First.

The frame is straight (or as straight as these old frames can be), it was the way the previous owner mounted the bed that made it look crooked. The new-style bed was a super-cool thing to do in the 90s when those trucks were new. Thankfully, we’ve remedied that. To each his/her own, as they say. Not my favorite look either...

Thanks a lot. Taking it slow and easy on the trip there, then it’s hammer down :burnout:

It does look good sitting there. The wheel sizes are what I thought they were but I forgot you were utilizing the wider rear housing. I wish they made a 4" BS for those.

Safe travels to your new destination. I'm betting we'll bump into one another again.

Literally haven’t done anything with the truck since parking it, except stare at it longingly as I pass by... Garage is getting sorted over this long weekend.

Current situation:

You guys made me feel a little guilty for neglecting the ol’ girl, so I moved some crap outta the way to fire her up and let her breathe a little. Love the sound of the BTR cam at idle :smoke:

I didn't realize that you used the Holley Terminator X setup. Do you like it so far?

As soon as I saw Holley was releasing it, I returned the FiTech immediately and put the TermX on order. Liking it very much, so far. Super easy to setup and fired up on the first try. No real time driving to comment on the learning capabilities, but all indications are that it should be good.
