Not sure it may have been a horse farm at one time but it makes a great bovine stable .

That barn is work of art. The structure shows simplicity and beauty at the same time.

And glad the truck gets to do time hauling the vittles. Looking good.

People are going to go nuts over that one. I've been off the greenlight kick a couple years now. I want this one, in gulf livery or other

That old truck is quite a creation. Looks like a combination of COE and conventional pieces. Like a homemade LCF. Might be on a later 1T chassis

Gentlemen, great pictures of those old trucks. That badge with GENERAL MOTORS TRUCK all spelled out is fantastic. Other Larry, have you got a screwdriver on you? Haha, JK. I get a kick out of that Spud truck too. Named OLD MURPH...Y. And theater spelled theatre. Allusions to elegance with a big potato strapped to the back.

I bet that check smelled pretty good.

Winding down to Thanksgiving Day. The potatoes will be mashed with gravy for sure.

My dinner is going to be different. Going up to mom's with my son. No other family will be coming. Across the river is a coffee shop and we've been invited to a small gathering the owner is having there. I know him but not sure who else will be there. It's a long way from when I was a kid and every night at the supper table there were seven of us

We will have all the kids and grandkids here tomorrow. We have to work around one of the son in laws schedule.

We used to have eat-a-thons on both sides when we were young.

Tell your mom congrats on the smell check.😁

Yeah, I had two older sisters and two younger... for a while. Then came two more when I was a teen, a brother and sister. My oldest sister was about out the door by the time my brother was born. So a family of nine.

The original five

You could be right. It was me in the middle of four girls. Lots of opportunity. I'm just wondering why half of us weren't in the pool. We must have just come back from somewhere. I've always been a water dog

Man, 9 sure does seem like a lot. We have 6 and I don't know what we're thinking. I guess the spacing may have helped? They sure are fun though.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Six is a good size family these days. We raised three kids. It was one every two years with the first four, me being third. My next sister came in four years. We had the odd years covered from '51 to '61 except '59. Then came a sister in '68 and brother in '70. Sure covers a lot of years. About a generation!

Four boys in my family which I thought was three too many =)

My honeys family had seven kids. Dairy family all in a very small house with a single bathroom (one sink in there), the kitchen was also very small. Four girls, three boys ... the math works haha.

Anyway we watch a lot of HGTV and she is very amused at the families that need more room!!! Two kids, mom and dad in a 2800 sq ft house. OMG how will they survive!

Of course they werent allowed to just hang out in the house most of the time. Everyone outside! Because they lived in a valley there was very poor TV reception plus the TV was turned off at 8PM. Study, read, or play a card game.

Im amazed she even lived through her childhood haha.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Since I was the boy I always got stuck somewhere other than in a bedroom, while the girls got paired up. The one house had a curtain wall to divide off a corner of the living room that was my room for a while. Then it was in the basement. We moved into a huge farmhouse and I finally got a room, but I don't think it was a bedroom. I never felt slighted on anything growing up in a big family. And my dad was a school teacher. Not known for being paid high wages, especially back then

It is amazing how much room people have these days and think they don't have enough.

I've got plenty of childhood stories, but we were happy. Spending the day outside making swings from vines, casing a hoop with a stick with a tobacco can nailed to it,swimming in the creek.

Picking up walnuts for extra money for the family,

Good, simple times.

Nice Larry. How do you like the ride of the Alcan springs? I did a truck last year for a guy and he was upset he spent the money on them. He said his other truck with rough country lift kit rides the same. Maybe it's just him?

It may be a while before we see a nice boat ramp around here. But, Monday I'm heading to Turtle Rock for a couple egg rolls and a beer or two. :metal:

If you look in the background, the water table is way down from what it was all summer.

The campground was largely under water most of the summer

Theres only one of those that I know of. Funny thing is, Ive passed it oh, probably 300 times over the years and only stopped once. Was shore camping at Putah and ran outta beer in my early 20s. Had my girl drive me up to TR and we cleaned them out on Coors Light . Haven't been to Berryessa in quite a few years now as Ive been spending more time out East at my folks place.

I can only imagine that the chimneys are starting to pop out of the water by now.Lots of good memories up there.
