California is a great place to live. Awesome weather year round, endless activities, car culture is second to none. Been here my whole life and never felt like a "victim" The only problem is over population, I wish more people would actually leave then it would be even better :metal:

Happiness is a state of mind! You can be happy where ever you live or you can be miserable... that's up to you..
I grew up in North Dakota lived in Colorado for 25 years and now have lived in SW Michigan for 20 years. I made up my mind to like it here and now I love it!!
Greatest thing about Michigan...? NO CAR RULES!! No emissions, no nothin' .. Run what ya brung, any time any where!! Wanna buy a new Camaro, pull the emissions off it slap on some headers? away ya go!!:metal:

Wow, but what a great truck it was - Custom Camper, Big Block, and 559 paint. Awesome combo.

The rare 69 Cheyenne :) Ok, sorry, couldn't help it. Anyway, a beautiful truck that has gone a bit astray in the resto department mixing trim levels and year availability, but could pretty easily be brought back to correct. Look closely at SPID and VIN if interested in originality on this one. $16.5K https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/...321122086.html

72 C20 Custom Deluxe with cab lights and a big block - and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it: HIGHLANDER C pkg! Gotta see the SPID to confirm, but if I were a bettin' man... $4K. Unless the rust is more pervasive than depicted, seems like a decent deal. https://wenatchee.craigslist.org/cto...317261569.html

According to Comp Cams:

4x4 cam and lifter kits are built to take advantage of the latest cam technology to provide maximum performance and low-end torque for your vehicle. Whether your use is off-roading or towing, there is an Xtreme 4x4 for you.

Highlander only available as a 72 Custom Deluxe and with parchment interior trim - and it has tilt, a/c etc - the least expensive way to get that was as a pkg c. So, without seeing the SPID, it's not confirmed as it IS possible it just happens to have parchment door panels and all the pkg c included options by coincidence. Echo?

72 C20 Custom Deluxe Custom Camper $2K. Now this seems like a very good deal to me - engine dependent. Lack of the eng callout could mean it's a 307 or a base 6, but still... https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...326580743.html

Ah ha. Fancy marketing. I never heard of specific 4x4 cam but I imagine it helps the consumer get a cam that works for their application better than just picking a cam from a list of numbers. Pretty good Idea to market them like that. That shows how often I shop for cam shafts.

I'm assuming this is the latest iteration of what used to be called an "RV cam", a common phrase used in the late 70s/early 80s. But who knows...

Not a CL ad, and I stumbled across it by accident - and there's so much bogus crap on the net these days - ok, there's my disclaimer - if interested, just make sure to confirm all legit first..

72 C20 Cheyenne Custom Camper Longhorn 402(!) :) (for $1525 - THIS is why I think it may be bogus... has to be, right? If real, possible deal of the century)
http://classiccardb.com/chevrolet/15...-base-66l.html

I can't stand ads like this, too much truck for the asking price, but if it's your dream truck, worth at least investigating, with caution.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Something strange about that whole site...

http://classiccardb.com/chevrolet/45...-base-41l.html
Price is listed at $ 1250...yet text says "my reserve is $6750"

Buyer beware everyone...if it looks too good to be true...it usually is...

Yeah, it gives me the willys. Maybe the low numbers are the current bid or something? but yeah, it's just kinda weird. Recommend see this IN PERSON before handing over any hard earned $. I'm gonna guess this site isn't quite on the up n up. I hesitated to post it, but I figured that with at least the heavy amount of caution I shared, well, we're all grown ups, and can avoid being stupid when buying a truck. But if it's for sale and it's real, it's a nice one! ;)

Is for a 67-72 Chevy truck?

Smitty 10-02-2017 01:07 PM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Don't believe it's for our trucks. Note tag on the GM sticker that says Metric bolts required.

1971 GMC Jimmy 2wd 10-02-2017 01:22 PM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I was wondering that. There are a couple others on ebay with the same part number that list them for a 67-72 chevrolet truck. But they might be wrong.

Smitty 10-02-2017 02:07 PM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Go to LMC. Look under battery tray, you'll see the one for the 67-72 trucks.

AussieinNC 10-02-2017 04:45 PM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Most ebay posts are made by people selling items that they have zero knowledge of....

The posts listing this battery tray say 67-72...which is simply incorrect...we all know the 67-72 is a totally different piece...

The battery tray pictured is actually 73-87 tray...

More interesting is the ebayer wants $35...LMC lists the tray for $ 13...yes, its a repop...but seriously...
