Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Your thread inspired me to go work on my truck the other week, though its pretty slow going with me and mine isn't quite as old or planned to be as nice I love what you're doing.
On a side note, from one to another, thank you for your service and Happy Veterans Day. |

I disected my old hood for parts. I will be using some of it for patches. Now the choice is should I just replace the complete reinforcement or just patch it. I drilled most, but had to grind the rest of the spot welds on the rear reinforcement. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01876.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01877.jpg There is 4 spot welds along the edge in the middle. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01879.jpg Once the spot welds were broken loose I used a block of wood and hammer to slide it out of the folded lip. I could have ground the whole edge and split it that way, but this was easier. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01880.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
should have used a bigger hammer Alan.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Me and Sdailey went to Moultrie. We had a great time. I didn't get what I went for because no body brought any brake lines or aluminum fuel tanks. I was bummed. We walked from 8-5 Saturday and still didn't see all of it. We walked to the car show, but decided to keep lookin' for parts. I believe there were over 1300 cars in the show. We went back this morning but a lot of people had packed up due to weather. Even Truck and car shop was gone. I was bummed again because I had some small items I was going to get from them. On the way home we stopped at Summit, and walked out empty handed. I was looking at their aluminum radiator and electric fan assy, but I need brake lines and fuel tank first.
I did like this http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01906.jpg Went to Tim Christians booth and hooked up on some parts http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01908.jpg Most of this came from him except the AC fittings (nostalgic air) and the impala glove box lock and rubber bumpers. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01909.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01916.jpg I knew my AC condenser would be too big (that's the way it came when I bought it off someone else) I'm hoping when Sdailey buys his kit he can get a condenser for my truck and he can have this one. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01913.jpg http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01914.jpg Also picked up a crimper for making AC hoses. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/DSC01915.jpg Started working on the other bedside. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01895.jpg This is the front brace design I came up with it is simple, but effective. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC01888.jpg |

Bro, i should have called you friday to see if you and Shannon were going. I went down friday and spent the night in Tifton. My dad rented a scooter, now thats the way to travel around. He's health is not that great so it was a must have for him. I bought a few parts. Ran into a few ppl from here.
What did you think about those two Hugger orange chey.'s sitting right next to each other! ------------ Trucks coming along i see! looking good! I have got to get mine back running. The carb is GOOFED on it right now. Moving to a house next month so i will be able to start rolling on it then. |

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
You could have bought me one of those locks. Does it have a key? How much?:sumo: I like the old truck too. You can't buy that paint job.:lol:Well maybe you can. I'm sure for enough $$$ someone could paint it to look like that.

There is a promo on fuel tanks here on the board that can be seen HERE. I'm trying to get my measurements right. The 2nd crossmember from the rear is angled in the frame. A 19" tank (front to back) will not fit. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...k/DSC01926.jpg |
Re: Project Vitamin C-10
whats that a miata header?

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
no, the one that wont let you use the 19Gal tank, just move it a little or cut it out and make your own crossmember to fit.
