Sorry you had to buy new calipers, but it sounds like you made a good choice for replacements! Look forward to some pics!

Dennis, any chance you're selling those old calipers?

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

i havent really thought about it... they are just the stock D52's that have been ground down and smoothed and painted. 1 of the 4 is stripped where the banjo bolt screws into. and i just went out and took a look at them and there's a few spots the paint has bubbled from the fluid.

I goggled them i sure like the black d52 one's better than the red one's. Great choice investing money on brake's are never a bad thing. :metal:

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

from what i have priced it will be about 1000 for the master cylinder and red calipers. But that is without the wilwood pads, and proportioning valve. How much is it all costing you??

Dennis, where did you get the bulkhead fitting for the front brakes that penetrates the frame rail?

are you talking about the rubber line and fitting that goes through the frame rail? if so i just have the line and then i screwed on a huge grade 8 nut instead of the cheesy fake nut from the factory. looks a lot better because the nut is flush with the end of the fitting.

are you going with disc in the rear also?? if so you'll need captianfab's brackets. i'm going to probably have to modify mine for the wilwoods calipers. like i said before the loaded front and rear calipers is costing me $700... thats with the wilwood BP-10 pads. that should give you and idea of the deal i can get.

54Caddy 11-07-2010 11:21 AM

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

i was planing on going disc in the rear also with the same kit you bought just without the calipers. Why are you going to have to modify your brackets if the brackets you have are for the d52 caliper??
