I think so too, blingy is nice sometimes but oldschool will always be cool. The wood is beginning to test my patience, 45 degree cuts at a sweeping angle are a pain, sure you understand that one!!! Lot's of custom stuff going into the wood kit and when it's done I will have to tell the secrets of what I had to use to make it work....should be a good laugh!

I'm confident someone will give me a mound of crap about this, but I couldn't think of a better solution or material to lay under the wood! Plastic lattice from Home Depot!!!! It's 1/8 inch and works out perfect to keep the wood down low but still able to breath. It won't rot or rust either!! It is slow going doing this wood kit, but it is getting closer to finished.

I think that is a good solution. So when you put the strips on to hold down the boards does it bolt thru the bed and therefore they will hold down the boards and lattice to the bed? Thanks.

Yep. The bolts will go through the floor but I also put a few self-tapping screws in the lattice to hold it down while installing everything. It seems to be working out really well!!

Jonathan, I figured you would be the one that laughed at me for this idea! I purchased aluminum, steel, and even long peices of flat plastic, then I saw this and the bulb lit up!!:splat:

No laughing here....that's really perfect because as you mentioned it has the holes to breathe but is a solid platform to space out the wood to not be against the metal directly....and it's not going to rot or disintegrate.

Cool! I have your approval so I don't feel so bad now! Seemed that it worked better this way, not to mention it was only 30 bucks as opposed to over 80 for aluminum flatbar that would not support it as well.

Ahh yes....the Farmers fight song!! Wooden lattice has a slight tendency to rot a little faster than the plastic, so the wood was at a disadvantage! Fer the house wood is good!!!

I am going to CureFest 2012, they are having a car and bike show. Live bands, food, fun, car show is away from the mass crowds so the rides are safe. $10 entry fee. Gates open at 9am for show vehicles to come in, come and go as you please. $10 dollar entry fee also gets you in the gate for all the fun.
