Today I started wiring the truck. Just getting everything in order to start running wires to the front and back. The kit came with a lot of extra circuits that I want be using right now. So I rolled the up and I will tie the up under the dash out of the way for now.
such as
power antenna
power door locks
power windows
electric fan
and a few others that I can't remember right off hand.

I had to weld up the 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square hole in the fire wall also. My fuse block mounts to the fire wall not thru the wall like originally. So as you can see I hade to apply some bondo to make the hole disappear. Also here is the mounted washer bottle that came in the mail.

Today, I worked on the firewall patch under the circuit panel box. It came out ok, not the best work I have done but ok. Mounted the fuse panel and ran a few wires to the rear of the truck. I have to put some wire protectors on the wires to the rear. I connected the tail lights and back up lights and used shirk tubing over the butt connectors as you can see in the pictures. I still have to connect the clearance lights on the rear before I put the wire protectors on them.

Today, I finished with the rear of the truck except for the tag light. Waiting for the bumper before I can do that light. I attached the wire to the truck rail today and made some grounding block and a 12V block. To make the connections easier for the small stuff. As you can see in the pictures.

Well done more wiring today. Got the front lights almost finished. I also got my new sending unit for the gas tank. A two line to replace the one line that came with the tank.
picture # 1 is the wire loom finished
picture # 2 is the wire for the engine compartment yet done.
picture # 3 is the new sending unit for the Camaro gas tank.

today I pulled the gas tank back off the truck and replaced the sending unit with a two line sending unit. Made some rubber lines to fit the new sending unit. and done a little more on the wiring a slow process it is.

Today A friend came over and we buttoned up the ing switch, wiper switch, head light switch, back up light switch and half of the wire that goes to the dash cluster. I hope to have them done in a day or two. Tomorrow I will solder wires together.

started soldering up the connections and shorten the wires and cleaning up the rats nest under the dash. Got the dash all wired and looking good . too cold to work out side today. Last night it got down to 29. too cold for these old bones. I can be thankful that it doesn't snow here like up north.

Re: 1968

I got all the wiring done, I think. I will test the wiring in a day or two. I am getting a little discouraged. Sometimes I think I would be better off selling this project. But I guess I better hold on to it. I hope to order my rear bumper this week. Each week there seems to be something else I need.

Man I get it... about the time we think we have it all figured out the truck throws another curve ball at ya... Keep the chin up... It really does look like you are on the downside of the hill... I am only half way up the hill... LOL

George, did you get the dash panel plug figured out? I haven't had a chance to look into the differences in years. If you got it your the man!
You do seem bummed though, why the downer? Your truck is looking great! Your getting so close! It will a nice ride really soon.
