Re: PO has me PO'd
This part needs some attention, looked at several videos from fitzees fabrication and will attempt his method, part is in reproduction, but don't want to pay

Re: PO has me PO'd
This is what the reproduction looks like, minus surface rust, but it's for the wrong side
Should make a good template though https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...c9eca62a_c.jpg16523601980051451715837370057391 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06 |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Looks like your original might almost be salvageable. Will be getting ready to start on all that soon on mine. Got all the new parts that have been sitting here since 2016 i think

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks Richard, curious to see if it really did fit behind and below the front bumper, 10 tool boxes and can't find the right combination to get at the top bumper bolts. 67,68 front grille isn't helping
Now, just to get grille guard mounted Should look really sweet 2 deaths in the family isn't helping me keep up my morale last week, Older brother, and 1 on her side Went on your thread, amazing progess...... Was on 301 the other day, Kent Island, area, saw a sign for signs, thought of you |

They're from Marquese, only come with reflectors, had to modify my sockets to light up
Don't cheap out and get the American billet, they don't fit near as nice as Marquese |

Thanks! Keep up the good work!

I haven't applied flame to it yet, just brushed on. You don't want to aerate it by sanding, more of a scraping motion with a sharp tool |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Bumper is a 1/8 " in the way of letting the bolt seat
Not wanting to grind bumper, have to try moving bumper or grille guard https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...d2392f9c_c.jpg16584476496242440129578185233226 by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/97391199@N06 |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Ok fixed my problem, I broke my own rule when assembling parts, start all fasteners and hand tight before using a wrench....
Just need to find the right socket to fit up in there |
Re: PO has me PO'd
I got my blazer on a killer deal. I drove it for several years with it in primer. I planned to paint it a couple different times and finally pulled the trigger.
I have one comment on the thread where the roll pan in the back was welded and the tailgate will not come off (no access to the bolts). The latest gave me quite the scare as I think back. I have been on it pretty hard a few times, even snatching a gear here and there. Super fun. Pulled the wheels and found 2" spacers and this style of spacer and lug nut has three, and maybe four threads engaged on the wheel studs. (four is a stretch). Still not complaining, but sometimes I wonder what people are thinking...not thinking....when they build their rides????? Scott |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Scott, I agree. My spacers are 1 1/2" and have plenty of threads on the lug nut, if you have 2 inch spacers, you should probably lengthen your wheel studs.
Thanks for posting up, and enjoy your ride |

I've always wondered what was done when these trucks were new.
Loose nut on the back side, or well nut? |
