Found an old piece of sheet metal, seems to fit well with only one relief cut at blue marker, clecoed in place

Rusty metal cut out, now ready to weld new piece in

I prefer to use my small dremel with a cutoff wheel, less intimidating than my angle grinder

In the aftermarkets infinite knowledge, they decided to leave off the last bit of the B post, down around the rocker

So it leaves any attempt to repair flying in the breeze, had to use the old fly cut method

Honestly I don't know how a factory makes this welding stand for 45.00$, do they pay workers. Do they pay workers. 45 cents a/hour or is the metal from old fridgedars

Any way good product, now I can get some welding done

Hey Jim, that patch looks great, just one more to go. As you know a lot of things in the B pillar area.

Thanks for stopping by, as you know, Stopping your build time, to post up, takes away your progress time where I really want be

I thought I was through with the B post until I realized the bottom 1/2 rear supports the lower 1/4 panel, would be flying in the breeze, so to speak

There is A LOTTTT OF FAB WORK in the B pillar area, at least in the RUST BELT

If you can't weld good, weld alot and grind

My preferred method of grinding is my Dremel with a 1 1/2 cut off wheel, far less intimidating then my angle grinder, slower, yes, but far more accurate

Turned heat up, wire speed down

Thanks for the encouragement, I call it my therapy

Glad I bought my camaro back in 15, at least I have something fun to drive....

Doug, thanks for stopping by and posting up, sometimes I wonder if anyone really reads this stuff, glacially slow

Going on 7 weeks of lower back pain, twice to the hospital and once to doctors office, to no avail, just injections and pills, that's not the lifestyle I want

I think I may have found my welder problem someone switched to 035 welding wire, I'm used to 023

Start over

Identify the use of this tool, it was in my Dewalt drive set

Has a Phillips head but no threads, sleeve is magnetic

OEM prize available for correct answer

No internet search or calling Dewalt lol

litebulblsc 10-17-2022 06:29 PM

Re: PO has me PO'd

Is it one of those bit holders, where the bit slides in, and the sleeve contacts what you are screwing into.

Thus disengaging the screw to prevent overdriving it? Like for drywall?

Re: PO has me PO'd

It holds the screw for you so you don't drop it?

Mine is a version of yours. Basically you can put one of your bits in there and I makes it magnetic. They are a bugger to get back out though. Kinda works like a socket locks onto a socket wrench. Here is a pic of mine with the diagram that is in the mini holder

Almost looks like yours has a screw stuck in it. Kinda hard to tell in the pic

OK CG, tried it and it works, just really snug, didn't want to break it.

So it looks like we have a winner

I have a few of those sets so it’s kinda like I cheated =)

I picked them up when I worked at Lowes, the people that worked in tools always let me know when something went on clearance.
