Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
I agree, glad you're getting back to it. How long has it officially been since you tinkered with it?

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
I wish all this work was done to the 65. But making money comes first. :metal:

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Thanks Richard. But I'm still getting distracted.. Very soon I'll be back on it. Looks like I'm going backwards, but will finish the bed with it off.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Holy Crap, It's been over 2 years since I posted. Let me catch you all up. Been very busy finishing the 40 Ford Woody. I was ready to deliver it to the customer but the rebuilt trans wouldn't shift right, and keeps popping out of 2nd gear. So I removed it and sent it out to get rebuilt again. The guy that rebuilt it died, and so did the warranty. I still haven't gotten the trans back, but otherwise it's done. Once I get that out of my shop, the 65 will be put on the lift, and I'll finish my Roadstar Build. No more customer work. I'm only working on my stuff.
Here's what the Woody looks like now. You can see why I haven't had time to work on my truck. This is what I started with. This restoration was the biggest and hardest project I ever did. Next back on my second biggest project, MY TRUCK!!! More pictures to come. :metal::metal::metal::metal: BTW, I did everything except the wood, interior, engine & trans rebuild. https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...0%20FORD-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...1_171933-L.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs..._120700-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...181314a-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...181314b-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...181644a-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...81522-1-XL.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...0181420-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...7181716-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...638a-X4-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...128_HDR-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...6181542-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/Bobs...6171054-X2.jpg |

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Great work on the Woody. Glad you are still with us. I figured you had gotten busy on something but didn't realize it was that long. Time just blurs together when you are old.

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
The Woody turned out awesome! Glad you'll be getting back to your truck project. Looking forward to seeing progress. :bowtie:

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
When the Woody was getting the interior done I got some work done on the step side bed.I squared up the bed header and shaved the bed holes like I did on the tailgate. :metal:

Re: 1965/73 Cheap Build Up
Before the bed header panel I welded the steps to the fenders, and extended them into the fender, also made a panel below the step to make it more even with the cab. After I install the rubber mounts under the cab it will be even with the bed steps.
Incase you didn't notice I filled the side panels because I hated the ugly posts that go near the tailgate. And raised the fenders to be closer to the bed rails. I'm not sure where I left off with previous posting. https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/1965..._133852-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/1965..._172334-X2.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/1965...1171617-X2.jpg |
