markeb01, once again your attention to detail is top notch. i have been looking for one of those at swap meets for a while. i was thinking of the moon pedal and how to trim that left side without making look like crap.

I have a Radio!

Replaced the original speaker with this one from Classic Parts.

http://www.classicparts.com/1964-66-...ctinfo/69-853/

This replacement speaker is actually 2 - 4ohm speakers. I wired them in series to get 8 ohms and get them close to the load of the original 10ohm speaker.

Got a working AM radio off of eBay for $20.

Wired it up. Works great! AM radio has never sounded soooooo sweet!

Installed a rear fender today and hope to do the other one tomorrow. The bed went on last weekend followed by taillights. The rear bumper and hubcaps will get a coat of ivory paint to finish out the rear half of the truck.

The roads were clear and dry enough I actually got to drive my truck to the store today and pick up the paint for the new front wheels. Since I removed the bed cover and a couple hundred pounds of sand bags 3 years ago, it doesn’t handle too well on ice any more.

I set the engine in the engine bay so i can start on the wiring and all the plumbing of the brakes. It is too cold to paint now so I might as well do the other stuff first.

Jaws Trivia,

Your son might like this -In the first scene when the girl is being attacked by "Bruce" (Named after speilbergs Lawyer) and is being yanked back and forth she's screaming very realisticlly, it sounded so good they got the scene in one take, The way it worked is that 2 men were puller her back and forth with ropes tied around her waist and middle section, well to make it look better they did not tell her when they were going to start pulling, so she would not tense up, and they pulled so hard and fast it broke a rib, her screaming was quite real!

My son added :The actress who played Chrissy Watkins, the shark's first victim, was a Mermaid in Weeki Wachee Springs Waterpark.
He knows his Jaws trivia.:)

In spite of ambient temps in the mid 20’s, I managed to get my front wheels painted with the help of a couple of heat lamps.

I started de-greasing the engine compartment, seriously there was 45 years of grease all over everything
Truthfully it looked better all the same color of greasy black :D
Now it's orange and white and lots of rust brown
I started to pull the rear step bumper but thought better of it
Even tough it's crooked I'm still gonna drive the truck everyday feeding the horses and stuff

Plus what do you do for license plate lights if you don't have a bumper... or a smooth bumper?

Actually these will now match the rear wheels. I’ve been running 15x5 front wheels and 15x7 rear wheels, and I just grew to despise the looks of the skinny wheels up front. I’ll be running the same front tires, so it will still have the same tire stagger, they’ll just be stretched out further and IMHO look better than they did on the 15x5’s.

Here’s a picture which dramatizes how straight the front spokes are compared to the rear wheels.

And here’s how they look after being painted black. The spindly look doesn’t show up so easily, but I still didn’t like them. I have a cool wife so the new wheels are my Christmas present.

You could hang a lite if it has a base with holes or taped with a threaded hole to some steel strap or plummers tape, the stuff with holes already in it if your not to concerned with the looks. There should be a wire for the lite if not wire into the taillights...Vernski:::uhmk:

Short Answer:
Air vents, flow-through ventilation. Vents were from a modern Dodge ram.
Sales Brochure Answer:
A truck cab ventilation system and method which includes an air exhaust at the rear of the cab. An inlet vent in the front of the cab (kick panel vent) produces a positive pressure within the cab which causes flow-through ventilation air flow from the front to the rear of the cab when the truck is moving. . The exhaust vent includes flexible louvers of elastomer which are held by gravity in a closed position and are moved into an open position when air flows out through the exhaust system.
