They don't call them Sugar Smacks anymore. They call them Golden Puffs now. I guess it sounds healthier.

It's like KFC changing their name to KFC instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken. They wanted to lose the fried part of the name.

I don't know who they think they're fooling. It's still the same stuff.

EDIT: I stand corrected. I was at the market today. They aren't called Golden Puffs. They are called Honey Crisps.

And Sugar Pops are now called Corn Pops.

They should have done like Chick-fil-a (I always read Chickafila) and call it Ken-fri-chik. Catchy! :lol: Ok, how about Chi-Ken-Fri? Chi-fri-ken? I always call it Kentucky Frikken Chicken. The one in my town is cursed. Been at least 5 or 5 management changes, a couple remodels, and nothing changes. Guaranteed to come up short somewhere.

Well I went to the market and this bugged me.

I buy this salsa. And now it's in jars that are maybe a little bigger than half the size that they were before. AND THEY COST MORE!!! :mad:

This is the new jar. I know it's hard to tell the difference from the pics but in person It's very obvious. The old one was way bigger and cost less.

I know it's not a big deal. It's just cheap salsa. But it is irritating to get less for more.

I guess that study shows people would rather be duped than dealt straight. I sure am bothered more by smoke and mirrors sneak tactics than a simple and obvious price increase. This chicken chit, "Maybe they won't notice", tactic gets under my skin. There is a reason products come in the size packaging it does. We buy milk by the gallon, 1/2 gallon, quart, pint, 1/2 pint, not by the 120.6 oz, 59.8 oz, 30.3 oz, 13.7 oz, or 6.9 oz container.

I always thought that that guy that sued Subway for the foot long sandwiches not being exactly a foot long was a jerk with too much time on his hands. But now I'm thinking twice. If you give them inch they'll take a mile. Maybe he wasn't such a jerk after all....But he probably is.

My random photo... My black plates are going bye bye. I traded them for a nice set of blue ones because the mental patients that run the DMV won't let me use the black ones even though you could get black ones in 1970.

Seriously? That's a new one on me. A question though.... how does the DMV know what color your plates are anyway? Also, don't they currently offer (for a fee, of course!) black plates? :confused:

Seriously yes. YOM plates for a 1970 commercial plate in CA. must be blue. You can get new black plates. I have them on my hearse and my C/20. But actual YOM plates have to be blue because according to the state that's what they came with.

And they know what color they are because you have to take them to the DMV for "Inspection' before you can use them.

It makes a lot of sense doesn't it? :crazy:

It doesn't make sense, except to them. My '70 truck was built in '69; that was it's YoM, and it had black and yellow plates when new. The blue and yellow plates came out in January '70 (as a guess).

Yes 1970 was when the blue plates came out and from what I've read commercial vehicles were the first to get them. I guess that's how they determine it.

What the hay. I like the blue ones better.

The other dumb thing with the DMV is that I have to have a 1970 registration sticker on the plate. Really? Who has that? Who hasn't registered a car in 52 years and it still has the actual 1970 sticker on it? They are all reproduction stickers now and they know it but you still have to have one.

I stopped by the thrift store today. I got a new 69/70 parking light lens for a buck and a cutting board for a buck.

I have a nice cutting board. Too nice. I don't like using it because I don't want to hack it up. I've been using a little cheap plastic one. This one is a lot bigger and it was only a buck so bust out the sharp knives and hack away. :chop:

It looks a little stained in the pic but that is because I just washed it. It wasn't quite dry.

Not bad. 2 bucks for both.

this was funny to read because I do the same thing. I made a counter top extension, open underneath, to place my microwave on to free up counter space. Then I decided I could build a rack under that counter top to store the wooden cutting board, rather than leave on counter as it had been. now that I have a nice place for it I tend to grab the cheesy plastic cutting board I never ever used before

It's ironic that when you get something really nice then you don't want to use it.

It's like when I had my 81 Corvette. It was perfect. 11,000 miles and I almost never drove it. It sat in the garage and I banged around in a really beat up 1966 Plymouth Belvedere that I bought for $250 with about a million miles on it. People thought that I was nuts.

I remember running into this old neighbor of mine in the Belvedere. He was a cranky old guy.
I said Hello and he said. "Why in the hell are you driving that old POS around? Get a job. :lol::lol:

That box looks far, far better than the one I received a couple days ago..... because I didn't actually receive it. A local PO employee placed it in a parcel locker, then put the key to the locker in someone else's PO box. We're hoping whoever got my package will bring it back to the PO, but nothing yet. While we wait, I have started the claim process.

My pups playing with their new toy... My ATM card.

My ATM card was really beat up so I ordered a new one. The bank assured me that the old one would still work. It didn't. It was declined when I tried to use it. 6 to 8 days to get the new one. Thanks B of A.

At least the dogs got a new toy.

6 to 8 days? I get a new one in 15 minutes at my credit union branch . Walk in show ID and return old card if it's still in my possession (last one I lost) .

Plus, the BOA is right up front with cutting back on branch hours or closing branches all together. You'd think they'd be right up on card replacement since without those their plan to close branches can't work

They closed the BOA branch up here. Then it was just an ATM. Then one day that was gone.

There is a little hayseed credit union here. I have an account there but they're almost never open and the people that work there seem like they were dropped on their head as a child. And their website doesn't work. I've gone to the branch, I've called them. It just doesn't work.

Sounds familiar. Our regional bank closed their branch here in town but kept the ATM for awhile, and now it's gone. There's another bank here and I can use their ATM, but first I have to go to my bank's website and transfer money from the account I want to use to the account they want me to use. Then the other bank's ATM is free. All this to improve their customers' banking experience, haha! :rolleyes:

Yeah right! They really care. They always tell you that over and over again when you're on hold for 45 minutes because they are experiencing high call volume.

BOA said they would email me a survey about my customer service experience. I told them that that wouldn't be a good idea.
