Re: PO has me PO'd

This area gets tricky as the bracket wants to pull the gasket out of the C channel

Windex makes it slid better, but the trade off is that it also comes out of the channel easily

Trying to figure out a way to wrap my ancillary tube

Re: PO has me PO'd

What is the ancillary tube?

What do you think about the lokar shifter? I am considering ordering one for a different project I have.

Re: PO has me PO'd

Looking good not sure how I would wrap it either?? You will think of something I will need to hide some of the additional wires (new harness with more options I won’t be using at least for now AC ELEC FAN etc. )under my dash

I could be wrong but it is the metal tube that flows the hot trans fluid to the gauge

First lokar shifter I bought was the body mount system, didn't like the idea of it flexing with body roll so I changed it to the trans mount, much better, very adaptable

Thanks for stopping by,, I'm thinking wrapping it around a can or pipe, then welding 2 ends to it for some feet (bracket) to mount it on the trans cover

We'll see how things work out

I thought the 55 wagon was cool, then I see the Pontiac, way cooler. Hope you don't run out of garages

Re: PO has me PO'd

If it is like the coolant temperature gauges, with the probe and metal tubing to the gauge- it is a capillary tube.

It might look good coiled up under the dash, behind the gauage how you have it pictured.

Are you making a new aluminum shift boot ring, or some kind of spacer?

You're right, it is a capillary tube, I'll blame it on a senior moment

I just have to make the ring wider to cover the hole in the trans. Cover

Sorry for the delay, been suffering from back pain last 5 weeks

Took a page from my Bridgeport clamping system and adapted to my work table

I hate to cut sheetmetal on my lap

Inverse of convex, equalls mind numbing, 2 different plains meet at this juncture

For some reason, I couldn't replicate the first piece I made, I'll call it a senior moment,

Finally after days of thinking I put the part on my V block and was able to tap in the convex shape I needed

By cutting down pickup weatherstrip, will you omit the molded end at the top of the rear door?

I can't really tell what part that is, but I hope you don't find more like that like that... Is that a fender well?

Shouldn't have thrown my original doors out 20 some years ago
