Re: ls turbo build
That's kind of what I was wondering also. Wasn't sure if solid mounts alone would be enough to keep from flexing
|
Re: ls turbo build
Changed my mounts to solid..

Re: ls turbo build
You may still want to get some braided pipe in there somewhere. You will still have movement without a motor plate and chasing hot pipe cracks later wont be fun.
Just want to see you enjoy it! |
Re: ls turbo build
Been reading alot about it... think I'll be fine..buddy doing the work has done alot of turbo builds without flex pipe and has had no problems on any of them... plus I've read were flex has blown or came apart.. I'll keep reading

In the end it's your build and I'm not trying to take away from it. I'm sure you have a lot of time in it and look forward to see another boosted c10! |
Re: ls turbo build
Been reading alot on yellowbullet. Some are saying the joints come apart and total the turbos... but some say they haven't had issues.... I'll take any advise I can.. all new to me.. builder says it will be fine, if not he stands behind his work....guess we will see:)

Re: ls turbo build
Got any more pics?
I think I'm gonna brace mine off head. Maybe u will have some street time on urs by then. There are certain flex joints that work well can't remember what brand but have seen a few come apart |
Re: ls turbo build

Re: ls turbo build
Lookin' good! You're gonna love the turbo LS. I couldn't be happier with mine. It's unbelievable the torque they make once on the boost.
|
Re: ls turbo build
Looks good can't wait to see the finished product. Also if the Trubo is fixed to the frame and the motor has rubber mounts something will crack fast.
|
Re: ls turbo build
They are solid mounts....thanks

Very nice! I really like the welding and fabricating he's doing!
|
Re: ls turbo build
I see you used the POL tubular motor mount stands with the LS, how far is the engine sitting (forward/back)? I'm looking to out a LS in my 67 and I currently have those tubular engine stands, wondering which mounting postion brackets I should buy to have your current position
