led install! Is it my imagination or is the person who wrote the instructions on crack! The instructions tell you how to mount the leds in the taillight housing but the don't tell you you can't install the housings with the leds in them!

Re: drag truck update with pics
looks good...what did you do about the syphon tube in the N20 bottle? I know there is something you have to so to mount it up and down like that.
I started my fresh bullet last night....should take it for a spin tonight. |
Re: drag truck update with pics
Jim I haven't done anything to it yet but I won't spray it for a couple weeks! I'll have to check with my nos guru's on that! Good luck on the new bullet!

Re: drag truck update with pics
Here is the link for the LED lights. I saw them when Stacey David did a 67 - 72 truck and put these in. They are REALLY bright. Everyone knows how dim the stock ones are. I remember following my dad one night when he was in our 73 farm truck. The tractor blew a fuse and had no headlights. I had a hard time seeing them!

Place the bottle so it angles towards the back of the bottle. Pretty much imagine it was mounted lying down, stand it up and turn it 180. Truck looks awsome, making me mad, I have all my parts ready to put mine back together, now it's been raining for 3 days. Step one of list is roll truck out of garage and pressure wash engine bay and paint. Oh well track don't open till May. Keep the pics coming. |

Sorry I haven't been here in a while we have been thrashing on the drag truck! We made it to the track Friday night and the first 2 passes were not good it was a little weak and spun quite a bit we checked the timing and it only had 30 degrees of timing in it! We adjusted the timing and it was much stronger! My best pass on 5 yr old slicks and a slick track was a 6.82 1/8 mile @ 103 mph! I went back on Saturday night after Djing and was ready to make a good pass on a fresh set of tires and a better track and broke the pump in the tranny! Its fixed now and I will bracket race it for 10,000 Saturday and Sunday! Wish me luck!
P.S. Special thanks to everyone that has helped Emory Pierponte, James Shipman, DeeDee, Wayne Nobles, 1ton K5, Scooter, Station Wagon, Kyle, Johnny Ray, Mitch Perkins, Hugh Meeks, Clarence Woodham and thanks to the wife and kids for not killing me for neglecting them lately! |
