Here's my 91, I'd like to get another front valence and 15x10 wheels for the rear. I'd also like to swap the old 4.3 for a newer 5.3 but that's a ways off still. |

So many nice trucks in this thread...but for my taste, the two Justins have my favorites. JWall's indigo 98, and Justin36's black 98. So simple, so clean, so perfect. Here's mine - same idea, but just a 3"/4" drop, so not as low:

1995 5.7 Silverado pkg, Belltech; spindles, springs, mini notch, etc, 230k miles on it all.. It was lowered when I bought it in '04, I've always assumed 4/6, maybe 5/6-7? I can't run stock 235/75R15, these 215/75R15's whitewalls/steelies are as tall as I can go w/out rubbing inner fenders, they came with my '72 Beauville/Sportvan and are just temps until I decide what's next, It'll be rally wheels or 15" Centerlines. I've always ran the 5-star stocks or steelies. It looked near mint when I got it, but I lost interest in keeping it immaculate when the factory white started falling off about 6 years ago, so the top half is spray bombed, it's a little beat up from getting passed around the family as a loaner(something I'll NEVER do again). I just removed the "silverado" strips, but I miss them and will probably order more to have ready when she finally gets a respray in a couple years (I have several projects). I'll never sell it..
I've always wanted to bag it, but photoshop will have to do until I come up on a dually.. |

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
Thanks man, Just bottoming out, shocks don't seem to be fully extending out, and I believe I might have installed the lead spring backwards. Left rear tire is more to the back while the right rear tire is up the front

Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
Did you install shock extenders and drop shocks?
|
Re: Show lowered 88-98 trucks
Yes I did and I moved my extenders as far down possible. I had them All the way up and the shocks completely bottomed out

I don't have a build thread. Wish I would have done one. I learned a lot from this site about the swap. http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/t56.html I think for the small blocks it is a lot easier than for the big block. The hardest things to find were the clutch/brake pedal and a steering column for a manual. For my truck it definitely made it more drivable than it was with the TH400. Haven't been able to drive it a lot yet as I'm trying to solve a boost leak but I'm hoping I can get between 15-20mpg cruising with the new setup. Before it was 8mpg no matter how I drove it. |
