Today I put the motor back in and put the new valve covers on, also made some power steering lines and trans lines too, I am trying to take my time to run everything as clean as you can. Hope to start it up next week, I need to make it to a show in about 3 week, so I need to get my butt going.. And again sorry for the bad pics, I will post some better ones soon..

I have searched this post several times looking for an answer to my question and also because you have such a beautiful specimen of a Blazer. I am very envious of your work. My questions has been partially covered. What is the back spacing on the first set of wheels you had and are they TT 2's?

I'm new here, so thank you in advance!

The TT 2's are 17x9.5 and I think I had the BB set at 4" and had to roll my inner fender to make them work..

Thanks guy's for the cool replys, I will get some better pics this weekend..

Hey Trav, I am kicking myself. Just got back to Canada from Florida and stayed in Knoxville on the way home. Should have looked you up. I would loved to have seen that beaut up close.

Love the tan interior over the gray. You are one talented guy. Beautiful truck! Now I REALLY miss mine. May have to buy Ken's??

It deserves a mag feature!!!!!!!!!!

Regards, Doug

Doug you should have let me know, you could have come by and check it out. And thanks man for the cool words..

mongoose,

I will post a pic up for ya, I had it on the road for about two years then sold the wheels last year, I could not keep it on the road after I made it a CR540 with about 75HP and that dose not sound like much, but when the bike is under 200 Pounds that's a lot.

Re: 78 2wd Blazer build

yeah it's a lot.....

i've been around motards for a while now... been wanting a cr500 for about 7 or 8 years now.. just never had a cash for it. they're pretty popular up here, I've done a lot of photography on the local racing..

theres a sport spretty populair here as a starter racing class in motorsports where they lower those bikes a little and put slick under them and use those bikes for roadracing , its verry nice to see them powerslide those bikes across the tarmac in the corners

Re: 78 2wd Blazer build

Trav, I go every winter, stay in Lex or Knox on the way down and back, depending on weather.

I will get in touch next year on the way and pop in if you don't mind. Love to see it.

Regards, Doug

Re: 78 2wd Blazer build

I did a little more work today on the blazer, I finished up the motor today and made a set of covers out 20 gauge for the wiper cowl and put some flat on them. I think it gives it a cleaner look, I was going to weld them up but I may need them sometime down the road. The gauges are in and working and now I am getting ready for a big show this coming weekend so I need to start doing some cleaning. I will get a clip of the motor running this week, it sounds wild with all the new parts I put in it, plus open headers it sounds even better!:metal: B&B Racing built the long block and said with my heads and carb set up it should be at 475-500 HP I hope I will get time to drive it a little this week before the show..

Any updates Travis?

What drop were you running on the Blazer before you added the bags?

Re: 78 2wd Blazer build

Hey Nate,

I think I am done with this thing, it runs good and rides good so I am happy with it now.

Before the air I have 2" springs and 3" spindles up front and 2" shackles and leafs off an 93 4x4 new body blazer fliped in the back, that gave me about 5"-6". Hope that helps.

Trav

Man that thing sounds awesome, but I think you set off your fire alarm.

Gotta love that sound!

So what mufflers are you running? H-pipe or X-pipe?
