5.3/4L60E with only 9xxx miles (not a typo its 9,586 mi. engine).... its was a bit dusty when i picked it up, but internally it was spotless....the tranny was also in great shape... took the pan off to check the magnet in the pan, and it was clean....also replaced the filter while in there....anyways here are a few pics of it getting worked over.

68short step,
How do you score these sweet deals? I would have gladly, drove up to Tulsa and picke this combo up. Of course, if I had known it was for sale and cheap enough for my no buck project....Looks great after the detail job. The Cod Fish will run like a champ with this powerplant!

Re: Project Cod Fish

on this particular combo it was timing...rob was ready to buy "now", so it wasnt to bad finding the combo, but got real lucky to find such a low mileage engine...we were literally about 15hrs to late on getting a 5.7 LS1, we had at the shop...the thing is when a good deal comes along you have to pounce on it, cause if you dont the next guy will, and rob was ready.

Well motor will be here on the 31st so looks like I will be spending new years installing it body is out for paint so just been working on the frame getting brakes ran, and installing my wheels I have decided to run the boss 338 wheels.... I did not have issues with diameter of front hub but I did have to space for the cap to fit spacer or not I think they look great.

mcbassin 12-29-2009 06:42 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

Those wheels are Awesome! What size and how deep did you have to go to buy them? I would to get some like that.:metal:

rob32472 12-29-2009 06:44 PM

Re: Project Cod Fish

The wheels were 1400.00 with tires.... they are 18 x 8....

Re: Project Cod Fish
