Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
Thanks man. I have been working on running all my hardlines for fuel and trans cooler. Installed a new carpet and trying to figure out what i want to do for a seat, i have the OG seat thats in great shape just would need a recover and i have a 1992 chevy bench that would need a recover also. I think the stock bench would look cool and would be cheeper to recover.
I have been working with Nate at Porterbuilt on getting all the proper measurments for him to input into his super computer for me to order the correct size two piece driveshaft from a local shop. I should start hanging sheet metal soon....... Oh and i picked up my air ride set-up from Jason at AVS Viair comp. Accuair VU4 5gl tank ect... |

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
Well i got the engine done, all the hardlines for fuel and trans cooler. Made a bracket to mount my air tank and started on the wiring for the air ride ect... Got the driveline in and made my carrier bearing shim to make the angles right. So its getting close to be on the road soon then on to the body & paint.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
You must have a proper angle on your shaft's to lessin the stress its under at higher rpm's, if not it will damage the bearing. The one i have is a moog from Carquest and its what was recomended by my driveline builder and Nate at PB. A well balanced shaft and good angles is the key for these things to work. For me i'm at -5* on trans -2* on first shaft 0* on bearing +3* on second shaft and 0* on axle at 5" ride height. Thanks man.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build
I agree 110% That is the absolute best carrier bearing to use. I just don't understand why more people don't use them instead of that whimpy POS that hangs from above. Of course proper setup makes all the difference too.
Your truck is looking excellent as always DRTYRAT30 Quote:
