todays sunny, and cool, thinking i should get this engine sittin right. the manifold on the left side is to far back to cut the frame and not get hit in the head with a motor  so im doing the driver side which looks like the wrong thing to do... im also gonna call up NAPA about there U joint conversions from 1310 U joint to 1310/1330 u joint.. I guess all drive shafts have a different size |

It's all good man, there's always hiccups along the road, I don't know of a single build that goes perfect but it's part of the learning experience if everything went perfect, not everyone would do it just remember that man! Posted via Mobile Device |

anyways i ordered the engine mounts. should be able to get the engine in right. it sits to high :metal: then i can put in the tranny mount on. and make sure the drive shaft has enough room to have a half inch of play. i dont like the trannys yoke
also fixed the problem with my phone so ill upload some pics |

Yeah engines are an interesting thing none the less, I have to admit I love my 305 even those people dog the s$&@ out of it, it's a great motor! I have to say though if money had it, I would probably do a 4.8 or 5.3 swap with a 4l60e tranny Looking forward to an update man! :metal: Posted via Mobile Device |

well heres the engine sittin in there now. I have the engine mounts. They just got here today, the truck gotta lil hammered finish right on the top of the core support. also pics of the C notches i did to the frame. did them eliptical so the longer the notch stronger the notch. instead of a huge circle. plus with the new engine mounts ill have room to have exhaust put there. TRANS-Dapt hooked me up with some quality pieces

Re: 78 silverado stepside her names 'Quicksilver'
todays nice and sunny. the kit came with the wrong engine mounts but i can still adapt my clamshells to the plates that adapt the older style motor mounts. so im doing that and, i need an alen wrench for the flush/countersunk bolts that came with it... i havent found one... i ordered my 1310/1350 U joint for the truck it will work with a 4l80E and my drive shaft so no problems there hoping i get the cross member in soon and the engine set down. its on a jack still.....
