I don't have any build date info for this particular truck, but thought it might be good to include on the list, as it likely is one of the last 72s produced in St Louis. |

This is an awesome project! I don't have the blue sticker or a build sheet but it looks like mine would most likely a 5/71 build based on these dates.

Just a word of caution regarding use of a Protectoplate for assembly estimation. Of course truck assembly wouldn't be after a sale date but assembly could have occurred many months prior to the date on a POP as shown here on this 72 where the POP is stamped 01/09/73 (image 91/95): https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...0/2454106.html

Some guys knew to store build sheets away long ago, a few are remarkably clean. The one pulled from my C10 is good enough, but what's currently behind the seat in my C20 is toast, it crumbles just to look at it.
I wonder how close the tracking on the first page is to a representation of what's still driving. Older they are the fewer of them makes sense, though seems there are more 1970 listed than 71. |
