I also stared getting the front cover panels of the terrain center console covered and ready for install still have to cut out the speaker holes in the vinyl covering but they are turning out nicely. Ended up sticking to using 3m weatherstrip adhesive since it seems to work best out of all the adhesives I have tried. Hit it with a heat gun for a few seconds and ready to bond to the abs and vinyl fabric.

Been working a lot of late to pay for the body work and paint so have not got a lot accomplished on the various projects going around lol. I am working currently on getting rid of the old head light adjuster plastic assemblies and have a new set on order from a corvette restoration supplier at this time. Also waiting on a free set of dana 3.73 gears to come in then I can get the dana 60 over to the shop for rebuilding.

Welp body work and raptor lining went from ahh lets just do that too a full blast and paint job so its gonna be in the body shop for another couple of months while we get everything lined out lol. On another note UPS and fedex are going to know my house by memory in the next couple weeks. MAnaged to put together a complete front clip stainless arp bolt/billet fender washer kit, mar-k chain less tail gate, brake p roportioning valve, and quite a few other things on this check today :D. got another vehicle in the repair shop so couldn't spend the entire check on smurf :/ but its getting there next payday a huge chunk is going to body shop and the sand blasting place so they can get all the body panels cleaned up for straightening and paint.

Ok guys lol Friday I went on a spending spree due to a nice overtime check at work lol. Tuesday I should have my mar-k tailgate in has stainless hardware!!!! I also took the plunge and ordered an entire body bolt and billet aluminum fender washer setup from allensfasteners.com. I priced out how much it was going to cost from arp for all the bolts I needed and I about fainted :/ then while searching I stumbled across allens shop and he carries all of the arp stainless hardware and regular arp bolts for a very very good price!!!! I also got my engine 67-71 big block motor cushions and the oil fill tube in for the 8.1 throttle body along with the GM factory 9k/12 brake proportioning valve to match my hydroboost unit. I still need to get the frame home Tuesday to see where I can mount the proportioning valve on the frame and get brake lines to reach it. Will be having to change the ends on the 1/4 inch lines to match the prop valve since the factory gm ones use a 1/4 inch brake but rather than traditional 7/16 sizes. This coming up Friday the body cab fenders and everything else is off to a blasting shop to get completely cleaned of all the old maaco and lead original paint off the body so pumped coming along beautifully!!!! Also while hunting some information on the bed tailgate trunions stumbled across a company called tdtrunniondesign.com. he has a nice stainless trunion unit for 58-72 chevy truck with a delrin bushing type assembly so the tailgate trunnions don't rust or squeak definitely have those on my list of parts to order for the new mar-k tailgate setup

If you don't mind my asking, where did you find the '68-'71 BB engine mounts?

Re: 1964 GMC 3/4 ton build :D

Capt I got them from manes truck parts they were less pricey there than lmc sell them for by a good few dollars.

well waiting on getting the frame back home and the body and all assorted panels to the blasting shop started researching and sending a whole helluva lotta emails out for my truck. I love how the flush mounted windshields look in the 67-72 and 73-87 truck so been working on finding someone that can help make that a reality for ole smurf :D should be hearing back from Kottos auto glass around november 14th and see if he and I can make that happen for the windshield and rear cab window of the truck. Also found a spare tire hoist I am looking into making part of the rear frame rails for the truck as well found it at a RV supply company comeplete with frame work n such.

the oops delivery guy stopped by today and dropped a package and dammed ifn the thing aint heavier than the factory tailgate lol ready to be primered and painted it is so Friday if nothing else murphy wise happens will be getting the frame home and the body to the blasting shop :/ got bertha the suburban home today and that hit my pocket book kinda hard so have to wait for Friday to see what I have to play with funds wise. Also picked up a couple of ididit chrome knobs this morning and going to be doing a lil creative drilling on them to get them to match my wiper switch and led gauge light switches. will see how it turns out and go from there.

well got one of the knobs finished the other kinda flubbed due to the design of the dimmer knob for the speedhut gauges. Going to do a lil looking around and see if I can find a different dimmer switch to use with it. The wiper knob turned out pretty good not bad for stepping a few drill bits then shaving the back a couple of mm to get the right washer button function :D

Well got the speedhut gauge dimmer switch order with the correct type of shaft for the ididit knob setups just waiting on them to come in so I can do a lil testing and see if they will be appropriate for what I am using them for. Tonight I picked up a new set of shoes for ole smurf from a friend of mine in Olympia Washington. They just need a good long bath in paint stripper to get rid of the clear coat then a lil polishing and matching GMC hubcaps and they will be set n ready.

Sean

and yes I did manage to get 4 32 inch tires n rims in the back of my Pontiac totally redneck but it worked rotflmao!!!!!!

Got the frame home Friday and have started stripping a few things off it for a redo on them namely the rear light and fuel sending unit wires and the brakes lines. I have the proportioning valve to install on the drivers side frame rail and I am going to re rout the rear brake lines to match that of the newer 08 rear disc brakes that are in place. After that drop the axle and get the replacement dana to the axle shop for a rebuild with 3.73 gearing to work better with the BB engine lol.

Been tinkering o little things while waiting for the body to come out of the stripping shop. Ordered a few more parts to sooth my hoarder type nature :P and started doing a work on a few things on the frame and brakes while trying to be patient Heard from a gentleman that gave me a free set of dana gears said he could also procur me a set of 8.1 rear dump headers so waiting on those as well now too. Talked to him today apparently the shop that makes and coats them doesn't make them until they get an order for them. So 76 more days wait them they and the gears should ship out to me :D I also started assembling a cab dolly for Tuesday when we pick up the body from the strip shop. Also while digging around finally decided to get the rest of the speaker wire ordered that I needed without paying big bucks to monster cable for their fat wire setups. found a shop that is recently come around makes some good quality thin jacket speaker sire for automotive use at a much much better price than the monster cable stuff. 250' for 60 bucks :D next paycheck going to rent a storage building for the cab and body panels until I am ready to reassemble things back on the frame. The mother in law through a temper tantrum when I said I needed the garage for a couple of months to put everything back on the frame :/ I swear family sucks sometimes /sigh so Tuesday morning going to look at an 18x24 building workshop setup with access to a pressure washer and a few other goodies to put all the cab and everything in till I start reassembly.... Also end of this month taking the Allison down to my trans builder to get it put together... Then some parts over to the powder coaters also....

Cleaned up really good.

Bomp I got lucky a friend of mine up this way turned me onto a friend who had a complete 66 long fleetside custom bed for 150 we got it back to the body shop and it is in perfect shape so we are recycling the old bedside into filling the wiper cowl to make it smooth except for where the wipers come through. I will have a set of back up lamp lenses and housing available soon as we get it tore down all the way.

I did mine with the body off the frame too. lol But the lines were all out of shape so I spent most of my time re-bending them. Probably would have been easier with the body on.

Been busy the last couple of weeks working mucho overtime to pay for the body work lol bill is hitting near 10 grand so far so have a bit more slaving ahead of me at this time lol.... Got in with a guy in Oklahoma that has a speed shop should be getting me my 8.1 headers and dana 3.73 gears soo from him!!! I also picked up a few dimmer switches for my gauges I need to get worked into place in the harness assembly. Along with all that got the 1/4 inch ni copper 1/4 inch line in so once the frame engine and transmission are cleaned up will be working on getting those straightened and set into place. Got a lil more experimenting in that area the 2500 late models trucks 1/4 inch lines all the way around the truck except for the rear axle which are apparently metric 3/16 lines on the axle itself. Also got the front sierra wheels in place the driver side fit with no problems on the passenger need to take some steel wool to the rotor its not quite slipping on like it should :/

Also on the note of disc brakes I was finally able to get alil time to devote to the rear disc brakes and getting them finalized for possible productions runs of the adapter plates. Got everything mocked up and the plates are 50 thousandths to thin so have the new dimensions set so the caliper will be centered on the rotors in the rear when I get the plates made up and ready. All in all enjoying coming up with this lil thing for my truck has been a real learning curve so far lol. Currently talking to a machining service up this way about the best material to make them out of and probable costs to do so in batches of 26 plates and stainless locator pieces. They said just to set it up as a print so that I can take them to any shop with the designing specs runs about 120$ so if nothing else I am doing that for sure. Will know more when I get over there in January to see what they can work out as far as the best materials n such to make this a reality

in the process of being patient awaiting the body to get painted started working on the vortec 8.1 accessory brackets for the front of the engine. I am using a combination of the Silverado and Kodiak brackets to get everything where I want it in the engine compartment which is taking a lil head scratching and spacing to get things lined up lol.. So far I have it roughed in just waiting till I get my water pump and alt and a few other things together to finalize it and then find a belt to fit this beast. the 8.1 is definitely a nice engine since they have multiple different setups for several different trucks :D the hardest one to find is the danged kodiak truck ac bracket which you definitely do not want to try and order new from gm at 550$. I got lucky and found one at a HD truck salvage yard recently for quite a bit less lol..

few things have happened since the last update. some good some bad :/ . First off was in contact with a speed shop in Oklahoma for some headers for the 8.1.... He started the whole deal off offering me a free set of dana 60 gears 3.73 ratio he said he had laying around his shop.... Which let to me mentioning I needed some tight tuck rear dump style headers for my engine... The guy said oh no problems there 375$ and your done..... Sent him the 375....... Then he is waiting for them to come in and mentioned he knows of a company working on a 8 pack stack injection manifold for the 8.1 engines and they needed someone to test fit it and get it running..... I start drooling and ask him hmmm who do I talk to??? get the email address and email them.... 495$ they said and The guy will sign you up with us for test products they said...... 3 weeks later nothing no headers no "experimental engine intake manifold"...... post up on his company facebook page "Hey what's going on I am looking forward to the headers and the test parts???", One of the members of the page and apparently his neighbor messages me did you know hes in jail?? find out the SOB is in jail awaiting pickup by the US marshalls service? sooo hmmm I guess I ain't getting my parts :/ Currently disputing it through paypal so hopefully slim hope I will get my money back especially if the marshalls seize all of his assets for fraud :/ should know something more here soon from paypal.....

And on the brighter note the body shop guy just let me know he about has the floor pan massaged in place one fenders is done and he needs a few more patch panels lol...... started out as a 1800 lets do a couple of things to a 9k paint job rotflmao not that I am complaining since the wife "encouraged" me since we were doing a few things to go all out lol......

And last couple of days without the family here finished the bench programming harness assembly for when I get hp tuners in my hands! Will be moving the desktop out to the workbench for awhile lol..

Tuesday wife son and the mother in law headed to Oklahoma...... Next morning I get a call from her saying the car was in a wreck and we are having it towed to Price Utah for a looksee..... :/ its like hell in a hand basket what next????? Radiator toasted ac system toasted front bumper trashed wiper system taken out....... Well new radiator 677$ towards my deductible ac system still remains to be fixed as the rest of the damage so waiting till she gets back this week to see how badly this turns out lol sheesh I told them take Bertha before they planned this trip "yeah she's a gas pig and all but you will be safe!!!!"

Hopefully they listen next time

But here are some pictures of the bench harness I just finished it is so nice having the proper crimping tools for this stuff lol

Well that sucks about the guy in OK. Hopefully you can get your money back thru PayPal. That's too bad about your wife's car also. You didn't say anyone got hurt so I assume that is the case?

Well while waiting for body guy to get along with the work have started looking at some other tools I need in setting up brake lines and ac lines on the truck when it is closer to being done lol :D. {Picked up the rollers to build a brake lines straightening tool and my wife got me a nice surprise for Christmas.... Been drooling over this ac bead lock crimper kit for making my own ac lines custom to smurf.... Kept hinting to the wife about it and for Christmas what did I get but the tool been wanting for awhile now lol...... Paypal refunded me the money I spent with the guy so tomorrow ordering HP tuners so I can get the computers ready for when the trucks is up an assembled!
