As the OP I say "All are welcome". Although I have come to notice that the popularity of C/L or F/B or Offer Up or what have you seems to vary regionally as you cross the nation with no, one format being the dominate one everywhere.

Here's a 49 from the PNW. With a radio and cool canopy included $15500. Sweet! The opinion is mine the truck is not.

I have been looking for a bed and this will not be considered. Dang they sure want a lot of money for that bed.

This one is down in Hogfarm's stomping grounds.

The grill bars might be worth a fair share of the price.

4 eye long bed in Wenachee Wa, Might be a bit of a challenge to get on a trailer though https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...6787009499594/

depending on access I would think a good roll back driver could load it fairly easily. might be worth the cost of moving it.

Use some old tires without rims, throw dirt or sand down and it "drags" nicely

barett jacksonitis says that truck is worth $20k as is

I'd agree that the price was right on that one. Huge car guy community in Wenachee. I thought seriously about moving up there a few years ago when the chance for a promotion came up up there. Rental Housing is so high that I would have lost money though.

This 54 Cab is in Wenachee wa or near to it. 5 window. Floor is gone and parts of it are pretty rough but the 5 window section might be interesting to someone who is close enough for a day trip.

When was the last time you saw one of these? Let alone one for sale. Not mine but if my 52 was a lot farther along it would be.

https://corvallis.craigslist.org/pts...120755707.html

Vintage camper top for older short-bed step-side pickups. Aluminum frame and new aluminum skin. Super light weight; easy to lift on and off. Brand unknown. Truck not for sale

had one of those aluminum shells on my truck back in the 70's. had it stored in the back yard one winter & a tree fell on it. off to the scrap yard it went.

Nice canopy, perfect fit for a '54, probably wouldn't fit on a '47-'53 with the angled rails.

Interesting fuel tank filler treatment on that truck too. Dual exhaust and 5-lug wheels prove it's no stocker.

Looks nice, but almost unbearable in every type of weather except mild summer or spring days. In direct sun its a medieval sweat box and in winter a meat freezer. Near impossible to sleep in during rainstorms due to noise. Aluminum worse than the heavy steel ones. Could not wait to get it off my 54.

If it were mine, I'd line it with adhesive-backed insulation just like guys do to their cab roofs. That would solve both the noise and temperature issues.

That might work but an all metal camper still is at the mercy of temp and sun. Worth a try.

Back in the fifties and sixties there were a lot of house trailers manufactured in Georgia and trucks like this were used to deliver them to the buyers. Before interstates came along it was very common to see them on the road and really irritating to get behind one on a hilly road. I've always thought these tugs looked cool and maybe would be fun to drive.

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

I guess you call that a 1 ton dually short box, haha. looks like it would turn end for end easy on a slippery road.

mr48chev 08-13-2020 10:45 PM

Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

That was probably from the 10X 40 or 10X 50 days. The shack shakers were a bit heavier duty in the 70's when I was working on them at a Ryder truck rental shop.

They cut AD trucks down like that around here to use to pull trailers to pick hops with to haul them to the kilns. Some hop growers had fleets of 50 or so of them.
