I took the frame out to Lone Star Throwdown 2017 and got some really good reactions. This is gonna be a pretty cool ride when it's done! That is Jason Thorbecke set up behind me so I had a really good spot.

Beautiful chassis!

What's the plan for the air compressors and tank once the tub is on?
Will they be inside with you or under the tub?

I have one small compressor inside my blazer behind the rear seat, and it drives me crazy when it's running.

I wish I had known you and your chassis were at LST. I would love to have checked it out and visited for a bit. Maybe next time.

Your frame looks great. I did have a question, I noticed in an earlier post you where taking frame parts to powder coater and there was surface rust. Did tbe parts get sandblasted before powder coat. I have 0 experience with powder coating that's why I ask.

Thanks
Marc

I am building a trunk compartment behind the seats and the compressors will be under a clam-shell cover behind that and it will be hinged to open. It should eliminate the amount of noise in the driver area. Hopefully.

Hey Marc! The powdercoater normally does all of their own sand blasting so they can control the environment the powder is going on. It is all included in the price normally. Frames are usually in the neighborhood of around $500 to $2000, mine is on the high end due to so many parts. (61) If you have anymore questions please do not hesitate to ask!!:metal:

Soooo, I pulled the rearend out of my frame and got it back to the shop for them to make it right. Their first attempt narrowing it was off by just under five inches. After multiple phone calls and texts showing exactly how much was needed they still got it wrong. After today's visit it should be right very soon! Finally I'll get to see how the body will look sitting on that sweet frame with the wheels on. :metal:

The 55 Bel Air dash is a little smaller than what I thought, time to widen it!!!

The dash told me what to do after cutting it, made some matching panels to fill the holes.
Attachment 1704093

The final product came out pretty good for my first dash to widen. Fill in the excess holes and cut the sides off to mount on the doors. Overall it was widened 9.5 inches.

The dash looks great. Sometimes you need to start cutting and figure it out as you go. You can only stare at something for so long.

I like the look of it...

I think the front is 5.5 since I am running narrowed a-arms. The rear end is about 4, the most backspace I could get with a narrowed rearend. Thanks for the compliments!

Dead in the water! Family comes first. Lost my dad in November and just had to put my mom in a memory care facility. I'll get back on it soon.

Thanks brotha! Gotta keep that fire lit somehow. I am hoping to get the body on the frame for fitment this weekend and of course that means body panels to see how it looks.
