Yes, this is all I've done in the last month or so. I've been working my ass off on the paying jobs and things are stupid busy around here. Hopefully more to come soon. The tank is out of a blazer from the junk yard. I haven't cleaned it up yet. I just wanted to fit it in first to make sure it's what I'm going to use. I have it sitting in between the rails and instead of modifying the crooked cross member I cut a slot in the front side of the sill. The next thing I'm going to do is raise the bed floor up a few inches to clear the tank and the differential when the air is out of the bags.

Looks good Greg! I'm glad your business is doing well. We'll be in the town on the weekend of 10/9. We would love to see the "shrunken" in person! JC

One of the best shows was last weekend. It's called Super Run and it's huge. It's in downtown Henderson which is a suburb of Vegas. I went but was only there for an hour or so. It was 103ish and H O T. I had the family with me so it was slow going. I did get a shot of a sweet grey short bed bbw. I'll have to see if there's anything worth migrating down here from Pocatello for. My Grandfather was from Pocatello. What's the population up there? Did you know any of the Jenkins family?

I think this guy lives here in Hesperia. It's one of the nicest 60-66 Truck I've seen. :metal:

If it has a bad ass big block, and a metal bed than it is him. I couldn't remember the interior.

Nope. He had Nevada plates and a wood bed. It's definitely a nice truck though. The only thing wrong is he decided to change to hidden latches on the tail gate after he painted it, so there are a few holes that I bet he wishes he welded shut. Other than that it's a beautiful truck. I don't know if it shows but it's a dark metallic grey. I've been thinking about painting mine the same color but I'm not sure now. I'm jealous of the seats he had. I think they're buddy buckets out of a 67-72. They look great in there with the console. It looks factory.

I love Henderson! I think that their Green Valley Ranch is nicer then some of the strip hotels.....well the pool area anyhow ;)

Very nice truck by the way!

Most locals don't go near the Strip. BTW Green Vally Ranch has the best Buffet for the price. It was our favorite when we lived in Vegas. :metal::metal:

There is so many here in So Cal. Pamona Swap Meet, The Grand National Roadstar Show, to the LA Roadster Show. Plus San Bernadino Route 66. Thousand's of cars & truck's show up to all of these. I wish I had enough time to see all of them.

There weren't any "Super Runs" in Henderson when I lived there. I guess they waited for me to leave. Looks like a pretty good show... Is it an annual thing?

Green Valley isn't the real "Henderson". The real Henderson is Water Street and the Eldorado and Rainbow casinos... Home of the 99 cent (probably more nowadays  ) breakfasts and $5 Prime rib dinners. Green Valley's just an extention of Henderson that the richer folks created. I was born and raised there... man how that place has changed... unbelievable!

Anyhow, back to the "shrunken" :ito::chevy::ito:

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.

Yes it's a annual event. And yes Vegas & Henderson has changed a lot. It's gotten way too crowded. When we moved there it was the most popular place to move to. Turns out we didn't like it at all after 19 months, and moved back to California.
Greg how long have you lived in Vegas? Did you see all the growth?

Downtown? Now that I think of it, there was a pretty good sized show in '02 or '03.. just before I left. Is that when it started? The only car show I remember are the "Industrial Day's" shows they used to have on Timet field.

Greg was born and raised there also. We are the same age...we went to school together...elementery and HS... different Junior highs.

I left in '03 when the market was booming. Lucky move...

Strodder 09-30-2009 11:04 AM

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.

You were lucky to move at a good time. We moved from there 4 years ago when the market was the highest. We bought a house there for $305,000 in 03, and in 19 months we sold it for $500,000. Who says you can't make any money in Vegas..:metal:
Now that house is worth less than what we paid for it.

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.

Yep, I was born and raised here. I took off for about 10 years and then came back in 06'. I grew up in what was then the middle of the desert. Now the sprawl has reached miles past where my Dad's house is. I use to ride my motorcycle out of the garage and I was practically in the desert already.

Super Run is only a few years old. I've been to the last two of them. Water street is completely shut down and there are cars from Lake Mead up past Basic Rd. There's probably over a thousand cars from Nv, Az, Ca. That's what most of the license plates said anyway. Next year if you're planning a trip out here Joe, you should plan it around the show and park next to me. My truck will be there if I have to push it from the other side of town.

That sounds like a plan. We have a year to plan for it. Is it an all weekend event?

Yes, Thursday- Sunday. Friday night/Saturday are the best. Sunday is when the out of towners start leaving. There's live music, food and a ton of cars. Good times

We have a neighborhood show that's called cars and coffee. It's a cool little every Sunday morning thing but sounds boring compared to donut derelicts.

MacAttack 10-01-2009 10:26 AM

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.

Yeah, the Donut Derelicts just sprang up out of a few guys meeting every Saturday at dawn. Now - many years later - you have to get a spot in the parking lot by 5AM or be relegated to the outskirts of the lot. By 09:30 it's all over - in consideration of the businesses in the shopping center - and every piece of trash is picked up.

Everything can be seen there and many clubs send representatives with 5-10 cars at a time. Now that I've got a digital camera I may start going again, as it's only a half mile from my house.

The one thing they do not tolerate there is 'The Concourse Crowd' and they'll badger anybody that shows up with a 100-Point vehicle of any type. That's for Carmel - not Surf City.

Mac. :mm:

Not yet. I don't have anything that cruises yet. I should sign up to get all of the show updates but I've been putting it off.
