Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Rumor has it that the Thunderbird PS rack is more tolerant of higher pump output pressure than the old Mustang II racks. I decided to risk it.

Got some new wheels on the way....here's a photochop that a guy did for me.

Got a couple of quick questions on your catch can. Do you have a diagram of how you set it up? Would a Magnacharger be plumbed the same way? Thanks in advance.

You could run this setup with a maggie, but you'd have to make sure it's set up correctly. What are you planning to run? |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Had a car show at work this past Friday. Figured it would be good to take it out one last time before I tear into it to swap engines. Tied for 2nd place, lol.
http://imageshack.com/a/img202/1526/nd2h.jpg It got a little bit of attention :) http://imageshack.com/a/img89/1151/dzcw.jpg |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Since you have had a bit of time on the road with it, what do you think of the No Limit wide ride IFS? How about the overall handling with your set up?
|
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
I'm so-so on it. Wasn't happy with a lot of fitment issues, but it seems to perform well. Interested to see how it holds up over time.

New shoes. Waiting for my lug-nuts to show up tonight to put them on. |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Finally got them on. Levels it out quite a bit, and got rid of most of the rake.

Nice shoes! Looking forward to seeing the winter upgrades. Here's a diagram on how I plan on plumbing the catch can. Thoughts? Also, are you running a one-way check valve in your fuel system?
|
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
I would just run the valvecovers to the "dirty side" and put a breather on top of the can. I'd then plug off the line on the blower.
Not saying it's "right" but that's what i'd do. |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Sweet...my photobucket pics are working again.
Went out and did some comparative driving with some buds last night....on the hurt motor. haha. My buddy in the RX7 was talking smack, so I figured what the hell.... |

Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
What size are the wheels? 18x?
|
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
What rate coilover springs did you end up going with?
I just received my No Limit wide ride and Fat Bar setup and Rob sent me 200 and 450s. |

I also have 450s in the front, but I think it needs more. I have my preload adjuster cranked TIGHT to bring the front end up, so it's not so raked out. But mine started out as a 4x4, so the frame has that extra 1" kick to it that I'm fighting. |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Mine was a 4x4 also. Rob said he would exchange the springs if I needed something
different. |
Re: Project Family Truckster: 2wd Conversion Turbo LSx Blazer Build
Well, an update.
Found out what all the racket in the engine was.... 4 bent rods, 5 pistons with broke ring lands, and one piston hitting the crank. lol. Was still running pretty good up until I tore it out of the truck. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...pscx398nej.jpg http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...psf2rotipj.jpg http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...psenquotcg.jpg |
