Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
getting this thread back to the top.....got some new custom made moser axles (they are a great co. to do business with) they are really short:metal: and fit awsome.....
also i cut up the new ART arms, so they'ld fit the new V3 DM design...and bolted up the uppers arms too....next week ill get the rack installed and hopefully have the steering linkage hooked up too... here are the pics http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1333.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1344.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1348.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1330.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1332.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1331.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1346.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1347.jpg |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Looking good. How about a wide angle shot of how far along everything is just to put the project into perspective.
Any updates on the gauges? Interior? |

68 Short Step,
I was wondering because I have a narrowed 9" moser out back as well. I can't decide what I want to run. Great Build!!! |
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got the front of the frame notched for the rack.... the rack fits fine, but the low mount alt. hits the the steering part of the rack...so a adaptor bracket is gonna be made to locate the alt. out and clocked at about 20* so it'll fit without hitting anything.....

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
also if anyone wants to know how these builds go with parts comeing in almost everyday, this is about 2weeks of boxes stacked up, and most of the boxes have boxed inside ......

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Man, looks like it's gonna be a chore routing the steering linkage from the column to the steering box!
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
its gonna be about a 45* angle from the steering column to the rack, the manufacture says that 65* or less is fine, so we should be fine;)
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Looking killer. What rack are you using?
|
Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
Can you tell me a little about how you did your notch? What size pipe, etc. I bought a bolt on notch but thinking of sending it back and doing this instead. I was thinking of boxing the inner frame for strength. Do you think it needs it?

as for boxing the frame there, it cant hurt.....do i think its strong enough and safe without boxing it, yes...... |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
ok, i got the new alt bracket fabbed up....it spaces the alt out about 1 5/16" and clocks it 20* to clear the rack......also had to remove the ear off the alt. (since it was clocked)... also got some new sheetmetal hung, the fit on the front fender is good (little hole enlargeing, to get proper gaps), and the door is decent.....it will require a bit more massaging, welding, and cutting (more on this later).....but it cames with the aftermarket panels, i guess.....
also got some bed panels in too....the rear cross sills are polished stainless steal (still have the protective film on in the pics tho) and the bedsides are original ones (from the boys at stoked out in rockwall TX) the one center cross sill (goes between the tires) is too long ,do to the rear end being narrowed, so it will need to be trimmed.....also the bed wood will need to be raised a bit to clear the rearend houseing, and the tubs widened, but that was planned on anyways.....here are a few pics... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1566.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1567.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1570.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1571.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1574.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1579.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1660.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1664.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1661.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1659.jpg |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
bit more progress, i got the door fitting the best it could.....the gaps sucked (aftermarket door), expecially around the window frame.....it was too tight on the upper aft part of the window opening, then it tappered to about a 1/4" gap in the middle, and then went to about a 1/32" at the upper front.......what i had to do was cut the door at the front door piller, then remove 1/8" of material, pull the front frame back....that took care of the front piller gap....on the rest of the window frame i pushed the rear of the window frame forward, then shaves off about 1/16" to get the gaps good......

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
here is a bit of an update....
got the rear step notch installed, (the old c-notch wasnt doing it for us) so with the step notch we were able to lower it about 2" more..... here is some pics, the shocks will be added shortly, when the bridge goes in..... also keep in mind that the tires on there now (rear) are for rollers only, they are 31".... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1769.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1770.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1774.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1777.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1782.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1783.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...100_1792-1.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...100_1793-1.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1789.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1790.jpg |

Re: project INCREDIBLE HULK 6.2L with 6L80E
got a bit of an update.....
im back on the dash/center console....i got the side peices made......the center console is kinda challenging (because i wanted to make it out of 1 peice), so instead of making it out of 1 peice, its gonna be 4 peices welded together....here are the side peices, they have a rolled top (kinda see this in the pics), and also im gonna make a inner structure to support the weight of our electronics, arm rest, and just general wear and tear it'll receive..... also here is the side profile of how the truck sits now with 30" tires rear and 27.5" tires on the front (both on 15" wheels)....... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1994.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1990.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1989.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1987.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1985.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1984.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1982.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...k/100_1981.jpg |
