I don't blame you. I've been running mine for about a year now and couldn't remember for sure. I had to find something with some pics to be sure it didn't have a clip or something.

I take it the wood is for your bed? What kind of wood is it?

It was on when you were at the shop but I only had temporary screws holding it into place, I wanted under the cowl to be protected with something that would hold up so I cleaned it up good and brushed it with por 15 good and heavy. :smoke: Plus I am going to modify a drain to come out under the cab to prevent getting clogged and running down into the inner side of the fender.

Re: 68 project

Hopefully tomorrow will be a big day for "Project 68". I plan to sandblast some more parts which include the cross braces for the bed and get a coat of POR-15 on those and finish up the other tub and work on the gate some more. Seeing it is going to be warm tomorrow I can shoot some primer on the bedsides also :chevy:

Stay tuned for some update photos tomorrow :mm:

Man, you're rolling!!!

GR8-68 02-12-2017 07:27 AM

Re: 68 project

The tailgate needs a little more work than I expected but it will be a survivor, sand blasting tends to open up things that could nt be seen before :chevy:

Hopefully in about three weeks the bed will be completed and ready to bolt down permanently but there is still a good bit of work it is the small things you tend to forget that slow you down, I will have to get my fuel lines and brake lines bent and mounted before reinstalling any of the body. I will be removing the cab here before long so I can finish up the body work on it and get it painted and ready for permanent install.

Re: 68 project

Yeah I had 20 hours body work on the inside and outside of my tailgate. Wish I would have bought a new one. But not now. All original.

Looking good man. Love the wood floor.

Re: 68 project
