Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Do you want to run 6 alum wheels or just the 4 outer wheels?

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

I want to use all 6 the same....not a fan of just "making things work" my OCD goes into overdrive hahahaha
The name your looking for now is "The Rot Shop" on Facebook. Ended up changing the name out. On another note, decided to start back getting some stuff done on the truck again. Began working on the tailight fuel tank filler. |

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Well not a whole lot has been happening as of late...as usual. Been collecting parts here and there for all my projects. Guess at some point I'm going to have to start building again. Been so many good deals lately....been taking up all my $$ and time. Buying more and more squares plus others.
This summer bought a 59 Apache short box fleet side 2wd, a long box fleet side 2wd, a K30 1 ton reg cab SRW (truggy project), a CCSRW that will be my driver CCSB project, a 65 Impala SS (one owner), and parts galore. Been collecting rust free square body parts (original steel), been picking up pairs of doors, front clips, short box fleet side beds, etc etc etc. Have more parts than I know what to do with right now....hahaha. But I have enough squares around here that I'm sure they will get put to good use. Here is the new box for the CCDRW (yes going dually AGAIN). Plus some dually fenders I yanked off a dead CCDRW donor in a pasture. Was only thing left. Poor girl was rotten right through. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psd004f3ee.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps81110cf3.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps03075522.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps740536c0.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psb426c020.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psecd9a0d9.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps225d760f.jpg |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Sounds like you got you a stock pile going! lucky!
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
I've had ALOT of squares in my day............rough guess at least around 20 for sure. Into the hundreds of total cars/trucks easily...hahaha.
Right now currently I have: 85 RCSB 2wd 82K5 2wd 88K5 4wd 89 CCSBDRW 2wd 89 CCSBSRW 4wd 88 RC C+C 4wd ...plus: 6 factory rust free front doors, 2 rust free rears, 1 rust free front clip, 2 extra side by side suburban front cradles with harnesses, ralley wheels, tilt columns, windshields, stainless mirors, bumpers......2 crew cab 4x4 bare frames, and the list goes on and on...lmao. Plus all the crates of small crap I've stripped off of the ones that had to go to the grave cause they were so far gone. Oh ya...and a dually trailer. Getting rediculous.......haha. Once I get my rigs sorted out for parts, things are going to get sold. Working on a trade as we speak for my 38's, rust free front clip, rust free pair of doors, and an 8' box for some swampers, winch, open 14 bolt carrier, 52 and 63" springs for my trail rig. Always bartering....always! |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
This is gonna be one sweet ride. Cant wait to see the finished product.
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Nice score on those fenders!!
Bartering is my passion lol |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Nice SWB, and you have been hoarding it sounds. Nothing wrong with that, they aren't making them like they used to, or at all!

On that note I just traded off my K30 4x4 reg cab n chassis, plus my K5 for a truck load of 95 Cummins P pump and swap items today, plus a D60, NV4500 hybrid, a 2000 GM rear 14FF with disc, T400 with 205 adapter (from my first CCSB 4x4 build), and a pile of other small stuff. All going into my other CCSB build (project ______________) gave up on naming them...I just cave and sell/barter them usually. Figured I might keep it if I didn't name it lmao. |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
So gangreen is gone? and Sounds like you got another stock pile of parts..

Couple builds may morph into one another/together.....or this one may go up for sale when done. I never know from one day to the next. Have a guy offering to buy my K5 2wd as well.....it may find a new home very soon as well. I bought the wife a 58/59 apache 2wd short fleet that she wants me to get to at some point. Plus my 65 impala SS is patiently waiting as well. |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Gosh, I just don't know that I could sell these perfect sounding squares.. 2wd k5 , rust free k5, and you have 3 crew cabs now?
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

Right now I have a crew 4x4, enough parts to make another crew 4x4, a 2wd crew (this one), 59 apache short fleet, and my 65 Impala SS that I am keeping at this point. Plus numerous parts/front ends etc. Then still have the 66 ss vertible, and my K5 2wd to get rid of. |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
oh ya, and my 85 short fleet 2wd too I guess.
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Super clean bed find!
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
ya, excellent for around here. I just bought another one out of South Dakota that was a Nevada truck....for the 4x4 crew I'm building. It's even nicer
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Goodness, just get one of each and settle down.. one 2wd k5 one 4wd k5 one 2wd reg cab one 4wd reg cab etc.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
The wheel tubs look great! Good luck with it!
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Yay progress!
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Not much, but some forward movement on the project.
Got one inner tub 90% complete, and other is well under way. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psxo1s9dul.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psftsun6pg.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psslvkiroi.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pswkohqifa.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psb4iol99y.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pse4kz1egw.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psat61qxft.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps5pzpawwa.jpg |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
I like the look. But than again, I liked it as a single wheel too!
My son just picked up a '84 C20 CCLB with a 454/TH400. Paid $900 for it. Thru in a battery and fixed a fuel leak and drove it around without any issue. tis rough but a good starting point for converting to a CCSB. |

I managed to get the underside of the box primed, painted, and undercoated. Hoping this will be the last time it gets installed when it goes on. Thinking I might swap out the differential, and do a small notch before the bed goes on....but haven't decided for sure yet. Want to get some glass work done on the rear fenders, then mount them to the bed for the last time as well. Going to be a busy week.... |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
We can't wait to see it. Keep up the good work.
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Been working pretty steady this week between kids track n field, baseball tournaments, soccer....etc. hahahahaha
Some progress pics....remember, the paint isn't done yet...far from it so bear with the progress. It don't look like much as of now, but things will come together soon. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psjyokrolk.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps7z4xejxs.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pshhoa4l8n.jpg With the first stage of patina sanding near done. Now to lay out the door logos, and other signage...along with some rust n such to add to the layers. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psqakpf7lc.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pshabflpcy.jpg And box is starting to come together, just want to build some additional bracketry to sturdy up the fenders before putting it on. Fiberglass repairs on the rear fenders is buttoned up as well for now. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psvatgwrbk.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pskzodnby8.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psks17vwyv.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pstpsq78by.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psvudjp0fv.jpg Blasted, primed and painted some box hardware while waiting for paint to flash off... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psgvqkaife.jpg Also had some awesome help the other day for a few hours....disassembled the whole front clip by himself, and tore it apart. Other than the hood that is (obviously) I had to remove that part. And no that's not really coffee...hahaaha. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psrwrrquv6.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps9a3pi1kp.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psf9hrn02f.jpg |
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Cool progress. Keep at it man!
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Paint looks good so far,
|
Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude
Still plugging away....and things are going fairly well so far (jinx)
Managed to get 99% of the exhaust done today....3" back from the factory Y pipe into a stainless BORLA muffler with dual 2-1/4" outlets. This was left over from a previous build. Also got the idler arm replaced on the front end...rest is all still stock parts, thought that was pretty impressive. Swapped out the hubs for the dually's again as well. Front doors are loaded with all new weather stripping etc. Mirrors are on...managed to find some legit perfect patina mirrors at a buddies personal wrecking yard. Will start loading rear doors in the next few days....going with clear glass all around instead of the factory limo tint rears that were in the doors I used. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psk7qkpdum.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps4ixpt99l.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps8n7jgxji.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psmeqrk7ve.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...psbitk14k4.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...pshc3sxvy5.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps2d4yt6mk.jpg |
