Ya, I'm fine. Ended up needing 2 layers of stitches, 4 on the bottom and 7 on top.

Today I finished making my coil mounting bracket (the piece I was working on yesterday...) and made a piece to mount my ignition box. I'll get it wired tomorrow and work on the fan wiring.

Looks great.... Both the leg and the engine bay.

Another great addition the the grinder family, is the wire "cup" wheel. Awesome for removing undercoat, surface rust, and the first 17 layers of skin on your belly, when it decides to fight back... Just sayin'

Haha stupid wire cups. My enemy is the cutting wheel. Thank god for my wrist bone... Stoped it from going right mu whole arm. Cool scar though... Good table discussion. Lol

What radiator and electric fan set-up are you using?

Entropy with their larger, low profile fan setup that they sell. They don't list it on their website (the last I checked they didn't) but if you ask, for $150 more, they'll do dual 14" fans and a lower profile shroud.

Only 17 layers? That had to suck, especially on your stomach!

That may have been a tad exaggerated, but it sure felt like it. Not fun to heal

Well I got it running last night. Unfortunately, for my neighbors, it was almost 11PM so I shut it down right away. Big block, noisy gear drive, and open headers for too long wouldn't have won me any friends. I won't be able to do anything today because I have duty (for those non-military types it means I'm stuck at work for 24 hours). It sure sounded good though!!!

That's awesome (not being on duty) that you got it fire-up. I'm gonna be in the same boat. Plus I'm gonna have to drive with open headers for a few miles to the exhaust shop. :metal:

You should try to tackle it yourself. Buy a few u-bends and some straight pieces and give it a shot.

Thanks! I have a phantom billet grill I was thinking about putting on it but the more I looked at it the more I liked the stock 4 headlight look so its staying.

They actually like it. The guy across the street, his wife was wondering what the heck the noise was. He said, "Sounds like Dennis got the Suburban running!" and then proceeded to beeline over here. Im respectful though, I don't make noise when its dark, usually try to wait until 9am on Saturdays and 10am on Sundays. That doesn't mean the grinder/saw/drill/etc isn't going before/after those times with the garage closed though. I've had quite a few loud toys since I've been here. The worst (noise wise) was my boat. I had a Fountain with a blown 580in BBC (made 920hp on the dyno) in it with 4 inch race headers...and no mufflers. That one was LOUD, it sounded like a pro stock car on steroids.

Here is a couple of the boat and a couple of one of my previous projects. I put a 383/T5 in a Datsun 280z. That thing screamed!!!

Re: 72 Suburban Build

Nice stuff Chief. I wouldn't mind the power-plant out of the Fountain for my Burb. Every time I see a blower belt, I think of "Lone Wolf McQuaid" hittin his "special" switch, when he was buried alive in his Ram Charger..... For you younger kids out there, it's one of the best Chuck Norris roles EVER.

But back to the Burb.... I agree. Keep the GMC grill set-up. I've often thought of converting to the GMC front.

Nice dash...I guess you won't need wipers due to the speed and profile of this burb:lol:

What mufflers are those? I've been doing research for mine. I found the magnaflow round ones would fit. But those seem to be a bit smaller.

I'm not sure you can handle these bro. It takes a special breed to run Flowmaster Super 10s:lol::lol::metal::metal:

Seriously though, they're super 10s which is a 1 chamber flowmaster. I know everyone has their opinion on flowmasters but I've always loved them and I like my stuff LOUD.

Its dumped just after the trailing arm crossmember for now. I'll probably go a little farther and try to put it in front of the rear tires when i have a little more time. I need to get it driving though so I can work the bugs out of it.

I just uploaded a new video. I realized the microphone was covered on the last one and then had to move farther away so the microphone wouldn't crackle.
