Today, I moved to the front.
I moved the front mounting location in board to where the front floor brace, and center brace intersect, this provides a strong mounting point, even more so than the stock location. I dropped a sleeve into the brace to prevent crushing. Well the next step was to get the steering column mated to the RoadMaster box.
I notice the auto shifter was seized. Obviously, this is a problem. So yesterday I yanked the column, and did a complete disassembly, blast, and lube... Looks pretty sweet sitting low with the wheels. My Tahoe has the black spoke version which the PO installed. Although like you said, everybody seems to be running them these days. Kinda becoming the new Torq-Thrust that's been so popular over the years.

I disassembled the turn signal switch by drilling out the rivet. I completely blast/cleaned the inside thoroughly, and relubed with di-electric grease...

man... everytime I see a vehicle on the tongs of a forklift I cringe.. Looks like you guys did a number moving this thing on the lift from viewing all the damage to the door and whatnot.. ouch..

All that body damage was already present. The forklift has proven to be an important tool in the shop, especially with moving inop vehicles, body lifting, and drivetrain pulls. Even an occasional pallet gets moved ...:lol: Come on man, you really need to give me more credit than that !!! |

John the boster mounting came out real nice. First I've come across Captain Fab booster brackets so appreciate the info....learn something every day. Your co-worker had a good looking Roadmaster.

My life has kinda taken a turn for the worst, so I have been trying to keep it together for the sake of my kids (first and foremost), my business, and of course the roof over my head. The Burban and every other project HAS to come in last in regards to what has to some first .... Anyway, here are some updates !!! When I left off, I was repairing the passenger side of the Rad support (Driver side I will get to soon) ... Next it was time to prep the front of the 94 Chassis to except the 62 Support, and front bumper .... Some scrap, left over 2x4 tubing was used to accomplish this front section.
The 45's were welded in for support, and fill. I needed 8" drop from the top of frame to get the stock frame horns to locate properly.
