Does anyone make rocker panels for the square bodies without having to buy the whole door jamb ? I can get a new one from Chevy but it is the whole door jamb .

I just used one that was the full rocker plus about 6" high in each jamb. Ended up cutting just a small section out of it...that's the way it goes I guess. Is this what you're looking at?

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

anyone have any pictures or input on what the did with the stock frame under a K5 blazer to lay it out ? looks like i am going to have to cut off about 2 inches off the bottom and box it all in ? Maybe weld in a 4x2 box tubing all the way down the inside ?

It will be a Scott's under dash set up , the firewall should be almost completely smooth except for some bead rolled panels.......any ideas on the wiper motor ? anyway to get rid of it and still have wipers ?

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

to lay pinch will have to cut some off the bottom of the frame and box it in, in this pic the blazer is sitting on the stock gas tank and the front shocks are bottomed out, it still can go down when these issues are fixed
but it gives you an idea.?.

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

the gas tank is touching the ground in this pic ? Fighting with myself on deciding if i should go all the way down or just leave the frame alone ?? cant decide ! Yours looks great !

over here they often use a wipermotor and drive out of a classic mini it has a flexible ribbed push pull cable running through a pipe and you can just about bend it every way you need to move it and move the capstands where ever you need them to be as long as the cable is long enough and it works
you can either get sumtin from a wreckersyard or buy them new

thank you ......yup tank is on the ground, I wanted to do more with the frame cutting boxing but I like it as is, room is limited with these blazer's also lots of work in a small space...it's fun!

Mike, Speciality Power Windows offers a wiper kit that is cable driven. The universal kit sells for around $265, they have them for 47-59 pickups. They are easy to install and very good directions....Jim

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

thats actually the same setup as the mini only with a little more ajustability , and its allready in the states saving you a bundle in shipping

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

i am a little puzzled on the rear floor, the front of the floor has bolts in it but the back of the floor is welded, the outside underneath of the rear wheel tubs are bolted and the inside is welded, i havent got my side panels out in the back yet so maybe i am missing something that i will see once i remove those panels, but does the inside floor in the back come out if you unbolt it all ??

Gee Mike, I thought you knew all this stuff.

GM doesn't want to upset the bolters union so they let them do half of something and to keep the welders union happy, they get to do the other half!

This is what I'll be using on my square. You can basically mount the wiper motor just about anywhere as long as the push/pull cable will reach the farthest wiper arm mount. A buddy has it on his '32 Chevy coupe and it works really sweet!
