Did some reading up on the start up clutch for the AC unit and it can draw up to 25 amps on start up and use only 5 to 10 durning running. That is probably why they have the 30 amp CB in the kit as if it blows it will reset after a short time and then you can use the air conditioner. If there are not some real pressing issues with the electric clutch. If you blow a fuse you have to replace it and it will blow a lot quicker that the CB. Most of the CB I've encountered are of the slow-blow type to allow compressor and fans and etc to start up with out blowing a fuse when they first start up.. Just my 2 cents worth.. hope it helps and not insults.

Makes sense to me. Thanks for the input.

I haven't done much of anything to either project to be honest. Trying to muster up the motivation to go out tonight and do something. If nothing else I can clean the work bench off. ;)

Sorry guys nothing new to report. I was delaying my post until I had something to write about.

I was thinking today about this...................then changed my mind. It's just hard staying focused at times.

i try.... i cant remember all those part numbers and this and that, i normally can find what the folks need for the old stuff. Had a guy come in this weekend looking for a caliper bolt for a GTO 60's i pulled a 72 c-10 caliper bolt. did the trick. he bought out what i had lol.
but some of the folks i work with just dont care and want a check.

Yours looks great! You are so close to getting done...you can do it!

Hope that motivates you...:metal:

It's a kit made of ash. I did some trading to get it so I don't know who made it.

Wow to think all these years that the Bible was unfinished....

Just kidding.
That is a great accomplishment.
Reminds me of a ghost story I read when I was young.
A kid braves a haunted house to find the ghost haunting the place needs someone to hold up a lantern for him all night.
The kid agrees to do this if it would put the spirit to rest.
The ghost had made an oath in life that he would not rest until he had read the Bible cover to cover, and what he did not accomplish in life, he was doomed to complete in death.
He needed the kid to hold the lantern for him while he finished his read.

I never forgot that story, and now 35 years later you just reminded me of it.

Time goes fast, and I decided to keep my regrets and things left unfinished to a minimum.
Regrets are the ghosts that haunt us when we are old.

Now I gotta get down to the garage and get some work done on my project !!!
Happy weekend !

I don't know if I want to know where you are going with this Dennis. :sexy:

Got back in the shop tonight to get a mental inventory of where I left off. So many unfinished projects. :uhmk: I think it is time for me to strip off the front sheet metal and get the engine wired and fired.

On a side note, I've been racking my brain on a neat way to wire the lights in the hood. Tell me if you think this will work. I want to mount a door jamb wire eliminator on the core support some how. Just wondering if the lights will flicker going down the road. I think if the hood is locked down good and doesn't move much it will work. That would eliminate the wires coming up the back side of the hood. I will use a 3 pin connector.

I think that's a good idea. But what happens when it's raining. Will water short them out? I'm thinking of shaving all the holes in the hood just for that smooth look, and not because of the wiring.

I don't think rain will be an issue. They use them on millions of vans on the road and seam to work good once adjusted. I'd have to see a shaved hood to comment.

Thanks for chiming in Scott, I agree, if done right it will be clean.

Ripped the sheet metal back off to access the engine better. I made the throttle rod today and messed with the TV cable. I have never worked on anything that had a TV cable. It's all new tome. Did some searching and found a write up from Bruce88 on adjusting it. When reading it I discovered I need a bracket for the eldebrock carb so the geometry will be right.

I did take pics, but planning on taking more tonight.

Also ordered ZDDP for the engine oil.

Want to order DOT 5 brake fluid, but they are proud of that stuff. It's about $40-50 for a 1/2 gallon on ebay. I'll get some eventually unless somebody has a better and cheaper source.

Sorry Dennis, I had to edit it. You bypassed the filters on a mods thread. It would be hypocritcal if i allowed it. Hope you understand. ;)

Pics of the throttle rod and I got the ZDDP in the mail today. Thought it would a little bigger bottle.

Still got to get the TV cable and brackets figured out. Return springs will be installed once the brackets are done.

I was going to ask you if they showed up today.

Got them mounted. I can't get a good side shot. Even if I could there isn't any front sheet metal on it. I had a little issue with the dust cap hitting the center cap. I massged it in and seems to be fine now. I don't have a pic of the dust cap after the massage. I just slowly flattened it out about 1/4"

I didn't have time to clean them before install.

Also trying to figure out a good place for a kill switch that will be hard to find. I was succesfull in placing one in my 69 Camaro that no one could find. I have a place in mind just need to see if it's convienant but out of sight.
