Guess what I did today. The first picture is your clue. I try to get all the use out of my cut off wheels I can! The second and third show the cuts I made to the frame to allow clearance for the gas tank. I intend to mount it with the mid flange up against the upper edge if the frame rail. I have some 1/8" strap stock that I will form to support the tank. It will look like a factory installation when I am done. At least that is what I am shooting for. I will be fabing up a receiver that will box in the frame at the rear and add strength. The last picture shows the filler necks current location. I will need to get creative with the frame at that point to allow clearance to get to the tail light filler. I had to cut a little of the top rail to allow me to drop the tank into place. I will re-install all that I can to have a spot to bolt the bed securely. Tomorrow I hope to pressure wash the back half so I have clean metal to work with. I will be fabing my c notch's and shock relocation brakets and moving my shocks. Onward!

Wow. You have more guts then i do. Looks like it is gonna fit snug as a bug in a rug. Will you reinforce frame? What size tank is that? Happy welding!!

Drove it to my daughter's about 60 miles away, drove them around a some this afternoon and loaded some wood from the tornado over there on the truck to take back to their house. Ended up hauling the wood back home with me tonight. All told I put around 176 miles on with only a few minor problems ( rear brake dragging and weak pressure plate causing clutch to slip if I push it too hard). I'm gonna put in another clutch soon as I can and replace some of the brake hardware on the right rear. Pretty happy with the old truck after having it on the road for two weeks!

It "did" fit tight. I had to massage the opening a bit. Trying to figure out how to modify my bed floor now. This gas tank stuff is way harder than anything else I have done. It makes me think a bit. I really don't want it hanging low in the back. I won't be hauling anything so I am not too worried about reinforcing the frame. The receiver I fab up for boxing in the frame should do it. The tank is about a 28 gallon tank. Cruising size :metal:

Changed the oil today, hoped to fix a pesky oil leak coming from around the filter. No luck, but it was a little chilly today, so I wasn't getting into too much, we'll get a closer look at it next weekend, should be a good bit warmer.

Swept the snow off and moved it around by the wood pile so I can unload it. The wood is from yesterday's trip to my daughter's, the snow was an overnight thing LOL!

Pulled the 200 4R out of the Suburban as last fall it decided it didn't want to shift from 2nd to 3rd. I have a TH350 that I will put in until I can get the 200 4R rebuilt. I might try doing it myself next winter. Haven't ever done one before - maybe it is time.
Still waiting on the delivery of my Softopper for the Blazer. Hopefully this week. I have a new tailgate trim panel to put on the Blazer while I am waiting too.

I can tell you, from experience, SpinTechs are LOUD!! I have headers with 3" exhaust, in/out of the SpinTechs, and 3" exhaust turning down right in front of the axles. They are loud, they rumble! At this point, I'm not sure I even like them. It seems like more volume than tone.:waah:

Are the spintechs louder than Flowmaster super 44's, maybe less chambers or something to be so loud.

After more than five years of having my project on standby(got married and a bb) i started my truck and it fired on the first try.(fresh gas) But it would not move, check the trans fluid and it was full of water. You can see my avatar pic that was like 6 years ago we got hit by a hurricane. Will I have to replace the trans of just the fluid and filter?

I have spintechs on my 2004 z71. I was told that some guys from flowmaster went and made their own muffler, not 100% on that. I would compare them pretty close to 2 chamber flowmasters or the 40 series....They sound pretty good and the noise level is about the same.

Tow it to a fluid change place and have them "Power Flush" it, that will get ALL the fluid out of the converter as well as the tranny. Make sure they change the filter, too.

I'd check the engine and rear gear fluids, too.

Truly, my truck is not loud, unless i want it to be!! I have no drone in cab and unless I floor it and really drive the hell out of it, the tone of the exhaust is great, smooth and even.... its even better when I drive the hell out of it tho....:metal:

The guy that did my exhaust had a 69 in his lot that had super 44's on it and after mine was done he asked if he could compare the sound... after hearing the sound from the spintechs and his super 44's... he said he will change over ina year or so. He wanted to "feel" like he got his money Worth on the flows...

not sure, who the guys where who made the design, but I'm sure glad I bought them... stands outs in the crowd of v8's on flowmaster juice.. Spintechs are as "tinny" sounding.. if that's even a word. Flowmasters have that thin high sound at the peak of the tone, where spintechs do not.

Here are a few videos I found that I have posted in the past, not the best, but you can hear what you need to in them.
