Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
dennis i hit u up about your rear brake lines with the kit what did you do. Did you weld the tabs onto the rear end or how is it set up with the wilwoods and the blackbird rear disc brake kit

anything on brake hoses to rear calipers??
|
Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
i dont understand what you need to know man... i used the stock brake line that goes on the rear end and the rubber line that came in the kit. i think the rear hose is off of a 76 caddy but you should check in captfabs forsale thread on the d52 brackets. i remember he says what rubber brake lines work in that thread.

Brandon, look for rear brake hoses for a '78 Cadillac Fleetwood. Those will work.

Thats super cool! I guarantee it WILL be in a magazine as a feature one day. And judging by the amazing attention to detail, a cover shot is well deserved!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Is it done yet?

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Damn! I spent my lunch time going over two thousand posts all to find out it isn't done yet!:banghead:
Very nice so far. I really like the color. I have to say I'm a bigger fan of the 15in slots though. Don't get me wrong, your set up looks killer and I dig your work for sure. Can't wait to see it on the road. Bryan |

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks dennis. Also for a porportioning valve what did you use. Does wilwood have anything to offer thatll bolt to the stock location. Im basically going to copy your brake system ahaha.
|
hey dennis, I saw a picture of your motor mounts, they were dea products, A2395. Are you happy with them and did you order them directly from dea?
Thanks |

Wilwood has a really cool adjustable p/v too that works as a distribution block for front and rear as well, but I don't think it would work in the stock location due to the knob for the rear brake bias adjustment. I have one of them on my '93 Mustang, and it works really well. The part # is WIL-260-11179 and I got mine from Summit. |

but i'd defiantly look into something adjustable like Ed is saying because i haven't had the chance to really smash on them to see if the rears lock up yet. Quote:
